Confused about wi fi and 3G on smart phones and tablets

    I was thinking of getting either a galaxy s111 or a sony tablet s 16GB. i am not much concerned about mobile internet but will want to be able to connect to my home eircom wi fi

    Am i right

    With a smart phone or tablet wi fi means it can connect to your home network?

    And 3G means you have internet on your phone anywhere by going through your mobile network with a special sim card?

    Yes, can connect to any wifi network
