No need for a rescue mission, I've (its labane mm, and you from Galway:)) been here a while but not posted a whole lot.TFK is a bit like the wild west, but I suspect there is just a bit of hazing going on and many of them are still bitter about ejection fron AFR and regard us as traitors for belonging to a forum that they were thrown out of. A lot of big egos there, speaking of I suspect yodimbo is a major poster on TFK and probably here as well. The GAA discussions seem reasonably good but the amount of abuse on most threads is not for the easily riled (N16 would not last 10 minutes there before getting into a fistfight). AFR was a good site, sad to see it go but life goes on. This place is huge but is well moderated.
Sorry Nagirrac, typo. As for TFK , I cant understand why they feel the need for the f word or c word in virtually every post, once in a while ok, but all the time ?

Good to see a lot of the old faces have registered here. Looking forward to engaging you all in considered, rational discussion of Irish Recreational Activities again.

    Look on!

Best to keep an eye on herself and not us Peadair!

I've no wish to discuss Iris's Recreational Activities.

I've no wish to discuss Iris's Recreational Activities.

Unfortunately you'll have to post your bile in other forums Peadair, which won't have quite the same effect. Your days are numbered I'm afraid.

This thread is a bit like Titanic survivors climbing aboard the Carpathia looking for loved ones

I was thinking of this last night. The ship went down in the early hours of Tuesday morning and since then, survivors have washed up in different places. Some where the natives are hostile (TFK) and more overe here where they are far more benign.

I was thinking myself that it's like that scene directly after the plane crash in Alive. :)

Some craic over on TFK, full of loons but altogether their aul barks are worse than their bites.

Good to see that alot of the AFR folk have ended up here.
Was trying to figure out what sites people would end up going to. A shame AFR is gone as there were some great debates (albeit quite a few bad ones too)! Going to miss it but hopefully the GAA section of boards will pick up.

Good man Har. Shock is right, still have withdrawals, still clicking on the afr link in my address bar out of pure habit!!

I haven't been near TFK, heard alot about it though...

It's gonna take some getting used to is this format!

Anyone have a feeling the Liam is gonna regret throwing out the baby with the bathwater and get the site up and running again after a bit of a break from it?

With the demise of AFR it has taken me until this afternoon to find out the Rosanna got the aul jelly babies out for playboy. Bressie will have exploded from not being able to tell anyone.

Tis the small things you miss, literally

cant see it myself COT. He was rumbling away about if before plus he had been ill. For him I think it had run its course. He might miss it a while but after a few weeks he'll be glad he'd done with it.

Maybe so ES, it's a shockin' pity all the same. If even he only allowed registrations from isp backed email addresses like foot.ie do, it might have helped to some extent.

I know, I know... but its hard to break auld habits :D

Maybe we could make this thread a special feature of the GAA section where anything goes, within reason.

Don't think our rules will fly around here COT. Maybe in After Hours :( but that place is as mad as TFK

Is there a way to put like headlines of other topics in a section in the GAA one ?

Nope, there are forums for each specific thing i.e politics, news stories, off the wall stuff. Thats going to be the hardest thing for us AFR boys to adjust to. Its hard to talk about GAA all day. And if you head in to other forums it gets very impersonal because you have no clue whatsoever about who you're talking to. In AFR you could suss lads out, but not here.
