    Folks,

Looking to switch trolley and hearing that the lead acid batteries don't last as long these days so thinking Lithium.
Had a search but no real feedback on them.
Any thoughts on the Powakaddy Sport Lithium?

Want something sturdy and reliable for 18holes on hilly courses.

    Cheers

Do you really want to pay that much for a trolley? It's nearly €750!! I know it's lighter and everything, but that's only relevant when you're moving it to/from your car. IMO you'd be much better off getting GoKart for half the price and getting an extra battery if you need it, though the 18 hole battery on mine has lasted 36 holes any time I've needed it (twice in the last 2 months) so you probably wouldn't even need that.

I've just noticed they do a lithium battery too, though it brings the cost up to nearly €600.

Yes, that's a serious amount of money but I can get that model at a good price at present and I know XMas is coming up etc so I can simply get it and store it for a while.
The battery lasts longer than 18holes I think and also has a 5 year guarantee whereas a lot of lead-acid batteries are starting to die on folk after a year or so, I'd say I'd get one of these batteries for the equivalent of 4 lead-acid ones so that's around 4X€90= €360 for a start so the high price is better value from that perspective.
Hard decision though, hence looking for opinions.

I'd be curious to see how many people have actually had problems with their lead/acid batteries. I have mine 2 years with no problems and as said it will still last 36 holes in one day.

If you can afford the lithium one then fair enough, I'm sure it's a great trolley.

I have a powacaddy since Feb last year. It has the smaller 18-hole batter and it is starting to go....

Is that a lead-acid battery or lithium if you mind me asking?

As far as i can see, the Lithium battery is only shown as 18 hole.
    - Is that really good enough for that price ?

I hear ya, it's hard to get user reviews but from what I've picked up some folk are saying it gets 2 rounds in on one charge, again I'm so undecided and there's no point talking to someone in a shop as they'll just give me a sales pitch. I'm going to get something from herself from XMas anyway, may as well be something I would not ordinarily buy myself but would like......

McGuirks are having a 20% off sale online until Sunday evening. Enter "MCGUIRKSSALE" at checkout and you'll get this trolley for €596... Nice Christmas present!

I have a freeway digital with a lithium battery which I picked up secondhand. It does the job it's supposed to do but don't think the premium price for a new one is justified.

I think the controls on my one are a bit fiddly and no great addition.

I have checked the powakaddy website for the 5 year battery guarantee and don't see any mention of it. I'd suggest you double check on the guarantee because a replacement is over €300. I hope you are right!

I've only used my one for 27 holes in a day once and the battery was fine.
