b eng electrical tech employment prospects???

    hi folks,still 'tyre kicking' for possible evening courses,im now looking at a b eng in electrical technology.i have been told this is a good qualification to have to add to my national trade cert(electrician)however im wondering about employment prospects after/if i complete this course.any opinions????:o

    Id say they are pretty strong. Electrical engineers are hard to find, the company I work for has to import electrical engineers from abroad at the moment. We have Italian, Polish and Canadian electrical engineers working with us. Its a very different field to electronic engineers and there will always be a demand from companies like ESB, Airtricity, NIE etc. With your background starting pay would be above average too.

    thanks for the quick replies,incidently there is also a b eng available in manufacturing technology..a lot of electrical in this too..would this be a better bet???which would give me more options employment wise??thanks again
