Buying from Hong Kong (ebay)

I'm looking at buying refillable ink cartridges for my printer on line.

I can buy the kit with ink and chip reset from the UK for £141 (€176.25) incl postage.

I can buy the same kit from Honk Kong for £78.88 (€98.60) incl postage from a seller with almost 19k transactions and 99.5% positive feedback.

Besides VAT @ 23% what additional charges should I expect for the Hong Kong deal?

I'd say longer delivery time + your shipping company will charge the admin fee 10 or 15 Euros depending on the carrier.

Shipping companies tend to overcharge on VAT so just be aware of that .

Your "UK seller" could well be based (or sending from) outside the EU too, if he's on ebay.

No, he has the products in stock and offers a fast delivery service, he appears to be the only supplier in the UK with the particular type of ink that my printer uses hence his higher price.

You may have to wait a bit longer but if it's off ebay then there's a good chance the seller will mark it as a gift therefore avoiding any duty you'll have to pay :D. This is very common when buying from asian sellers.

I'd be willing to bet the UK seller is buying them in Asia also and selling them on at a tidy profit.

;) I find small items from Hong Kong arrive in about a week and slip through the dreaded customs man.
Large packets might attract more attention however.
