I was wondering if chemists stock a food supplement drink(vanilla shakes) that you get in hospitals lets say after a trauma, you take the liquid food through a straw or poured out in a glass, for when you cant chew,it would be handy when getting further extractions(which im putting off till january,as im scared to death of them, they are really really painful i wouldnt wish it on on my worst enemy honestly the pain is unreal),anyway after the extractions its painful to chew anyway and not a good idea due to bacteria and infection to chew near the extraction site..and im getting two on either side so im thinking my only option is baby food and liquified food supplement those vanilla flavoured shakes you get in hospital..
Does anybody know of any chemists that stock them or are the stocked everywhere,i will have to check my local anway if anybody has any information on where to get them would be greatful..Thanks

Jesus its only and extraction not open heart surgery.....Last extraction I had I was eating solid food within a couple of hours, and yes it was a wisdom tooth.

I know some people can have no trouble with it,but its all very individual. With the dentists invariably there will always be work to be done and advised, which is fair enough no problem with it,afterall they are dentists and will look out for decay or other problems that need sorting out..

I did have trouble when i had my wisdom teeth out,the dentist advised me to only eat liquified food.Anyway,i remember years ago ,when i had a nose broken and other traumas that i would be given this food supplement drink a vanilla shake, and i was just wondering about it..

Anyway it looks like i will have to look it up and research it for myself..

Have you not had this tooth out yet?

Liquid food is way over the top. That is for where there will be weeks or months of recovery. You will be able to eat within hours.

The shakes your talking about would be Ensure, Complan, Fortisip or similar. I've seen Complan in boots, nor sure about the others.

I have seen many things in many shops you don't need after a tooth extraction, ensure is one of them.
