Oh no it would not. My whole bathroom is held together by silicone. Use a good quality silicone and leave it overnight.

Your not siliconing the unit to the wall you know. Your just siliconing the sink to the top. Not a hope it will move. The fixings that come with the sink usually fix the sink to the wall. ironically if there is any move on the unit the basin will crack where as the silicone will allow a certain amount of movement.

I know plumbers that silicone close couple toilets(Not low level) to the wall and floor and cut heads off screws and rest them in the silicone.

Advantage. A stanley knife lets them have access in the future where as piss stained rusty screws usually dont come out so easy.

You cant fail with tec 7 clear. Its brilliant. but to be honest its expensive. About 12 euro a tube. I can buy a good evo trade silicone for 6 euro in most providers.

Most people would use white but i honestly believe clear is more forgiving if you have never done siliconing

I imported Geocel for years and swear by the brand but to be honest just go to a builders merchant and get a tube of stuff more expensive then 5 euro
