Something has to be happening behind the scenes.

Javi Martinez and Stephen Mbia would do a job for us. Yet we didnt bother.

Are they any better than what we have already though? Martinez perhaps, Mbia I don't think so IMO.

Just because there are decent players available doesn't mean we should immediately go for them. There could be a number of reasons we haven't signed certain players.

With the obvious exception of last year, Wenger tends to have a select list of players he feels would fit into the team/squad and will go for them if they become available.

On a side note, am I the only one who thinks Dempsey is being slightly overrated? He would not get into that Arsenal team.

People need to take a step back from the deadline day bandwagon and realise that it's not a mortal sin for a club not to bring in players on deadline day. Manchester United have been very quiet and so have a good 4 or 5 other Premier League clubs. We arguably do with a few squad players but all in all we have no major need of any overrated run of the mill player just because Spurs or someone are bidding for them.

Why are people so eager to buy squad players when we have a massive squad of players. We need to trim our squad, not fatten it with has beens. I wanted Essien but only for what he might teach Frimpong and Coq, nothing more. I can't say I'd be overly excited with teh signing of Dempsey apart from the potential shirt sales and exposure in the US.

I didnt want Dempsey earlier or yesterday but right now id take him hes a decent player who could do a job with no more signings or squad is awfully thin one or two injurys in key areas and were up **** creek without a paddle,we havent got a massive squad, and a lot of what he have in reserve aka Chamack just aint good enough hes below average with the performances hes shown in an Arsenal jersey.

Ideally I wanted Tiote, M'Vila the area of the pitch weve most needed strenghtening, and another versatile forward minimum. Suure even Pardew admitted yesterday that he couldnt guarantee keeping Tiote or Cabaye he knew with Newcastle having no ChampionsLeague football and being owned by Mike Ashley the could and would sell, why didnt we go in and say right heres twenty million for Tiote and test them, were meant to have plenty more than twenty million to spend.

It's getting a bit sad with people pretty much being jealous of spurs. For all their spending we're still the better team. No player that spurs have gotten would have improved us.

Not to get hopes up but few mumours now that there could be a loan deal on the pipeline for Arsenal.
    No idea who though.

man u lost the title on goal difference and rectified that by signing the leagues top scorer.

every arsenal fan knows we're a couple of signings away from having a team that is genuinely capable of maintaining a title challenge through the season.

    thats why we're frustrated.

The most frustrating thing is Wenger still has so many players developing, and he needs to keep faith in them by not bringing in more players that may affect their development, and that may hurt our chances, but it's part of the process.

But thats part of the frustration really aint it, we understand that and for years we went along with it. But all weve seen in recent years is all these players become world class here then go right im off to a club with better wages and a chance of winning things.

At this stage I think a lot would be of the opinion of feck the youths if there good enough they will make it either way and it will challenge them to rise above the first team players. We have seen a shift towards more mature established players alright recently but were still short.

Exactly, Wenger said a few years ago the he wouldn't sign a DCM as it would hinder Songs progress.

The loyalty he shows the players isn't reciprocated when they make it.

    Roll on Sunday to fcuk

That's part of the vicious circle of buying youth with real talent.
And if we wait and buy when their developed a fair bit, they cost a fortune thanks to the likes of Man City.
I feel for Wenger, when he was whinging about the league and the way other teams make up for their lack of development with sugar daddies, most of us didn't think too much of it.
    Wenger is our sugar daddy

But they signed Kagawa and got RVP from us though and more relevantly have stability in their team structure. They also have Rooney a world class striker on his day and Welbeck as a good option, yes their midfield is a bit dodgy but they have players that can score goals even when they concede them; comparing our situation to ManU is a bit funny tbf.

Right now our defense is OKish- we would have to wait to be tested by a top team to establish if we can withstand top class offensive play. We need to strengthen our midfield and we definitely need an additional striker. Just wondering, what happens if Giroud gets injured?

Yeh but by the looks of thing Wenger seems to see Podolski more on the left wing than forward, so were still short.

Also if the two of them are playing week in week out we could end up with both needing a break or both suffering injuries. Resulting in Chamack getting game time

Oh well, a good win on Sunday and we can put all this behind us

Dont wory we still have twenty minutes that top top top player is coming, there just keeping it under wraps.

Ref: Jim White creaming himself, can you blame him. He arrives into work and Kirsty is coming out the door to meet him, he sits down and Natalie plonks her ass beside him in a little yellow number.
p.s. at least we're not 'The Pool' :D

Another 0-0 looming in Sunday. Liverpool have nobody who can score.

Dunno, I'm starting to fear that Messi-Iniesta double swoop may not happen after all
