Clear up some now from jamming the little finger in and wiggling it about while holding my head at an angle.

I might have to look into getting them hosed out though. Cant be good if your going deaf every so often out of the blue.

Ears starting popping yesturday at work.as in on the ascent of an aircraft...was really weird talking to people..went away after a while .think I have experienced the buzzing as well..i think its maybe related to air pressure changes?

    Have you been swimming recently?

Nope. Cant swim. Did have a shower recently though where a bit of water got in there !! Must be four days ago though. Surely would have dried out in that length of time.

Have you been golfing lately? It could be that.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ask the internet for medical advice.

Don't worry when you lose your ears people with wooden ears can lead productive lives.

Shower more often, you haven't cleaned your ears properly.

Then again when you go to a doctor what do they be typing ? I'll wager they are on doctor.com looking up symptoms.

I was only ever told to clean behind my ears. Should I give them a good old squirt ?

Right, you're going to need a pillow, some tissues, a corkscrew and a 'can-do' attitude.

    Get a piece of string
Tie one end to your ear
Tie the other end to a door handle...

Chew some chewing gum...sometimes loosens things up if it's a bit of pressure.

Heat up an iron and hold it to the side of your head for 5 to 10 minutes. Should melt any excess ear wax.

Alternatively if you want to be boring I believe a small drop of warm olive oil will do the same.

There has been some great advice given above, I am convinced most the AHers are really doctors.

Your ears are like your eyes, when something goes wrong suddenly it is an indication of something serious happening, perhaps to your brain, see a doc.

Trust me on this, warm olive oil in your ear will be what your doctor will advise you to do. They won't wash out your ear until you've loosened up the wax with some warm olive oil overnight because if you don't do that, the wax won't come out and it'll just be a waste of time.

It does happen. While cycling, I once had a fly fly into my ear. All I heard was buzzing inside my head for about 5 minutes and it freaked me out. Went immediately to doc but the the fly had flew back out then. He did syringe my ear to be on the safe side though ;)

buy some Waxsol from the chemist and use that, I find it usually takes a good few days for it to soften up

I often end up using a syringe filled with warm water to wash it out
