Of course he wasn't any where near the top of Marotta's list. He was somewhere after Cavani, van Persie, Jovetic, Dzeko, Llorente, Drogba, Suarez, Berbatov, Pazzini, Destro and probably others I've forgotten.

I'd be asking QPR the same, they've some expensive, older players coming in on potentially big wages.

Stoke is always one that I forget about when looking at transfers but in recent memory they have spent a decent wedge without seeing too much return.

Ajax really want to sell him but VD Wiel is not just going anywhere as his contract runs out at the end of this season.
