I always did that until I got a tag :P

I was sitting behind a woman for ages at the N7 toll and she kept putting in 2 euros (Which seem to not work in most machines as well as the toll)

When she eventually got it to take one, she took off, and I got about €12 :D

The tag is well handy, no fumbling about for change. Were there ever hot young ones working on the east link? I certainly never saw one :D

Lads, as you remember my car was fully valeted last Saturday. It got some dirt on it a bit, but it comes of very easily. So I wonder do I really need to wash her off completely with shampoo and microfiber sponge? Or I might as well just rinse it and get some rag to take that dirt off?
Car still looks fantastic and the rain just slides off it thx to all that waxing etc. I just don't know how to make it last best.

What you need to use is something like Auto Glym shampoo which is designed not to strip wax.

Most standard car washes will strip off your wax etc. because they're pure salty :pac:

Probably a stupid question but how long does a typical layer of wax last on a car here in Ireland? Presuming its cleaned in the interim with non stripping shampoo.

Up to 2 months IMO but what you can do is after every wash, apply a booster wax like Turtle Wax "Wax it Wet". This is a very easy and effective way to keep the protection lasting and the layer of normal wax lasts a lot longer than 2 months with the boost after each wash.

So what you saying lads is I better not use any shampoo? It's only few sort patches on the bottom.

I might as well just take a cloth and take it off. I tried with finger and dirty just slides off and under it all shiny panel.

If you rinse it and use a rag, all the grit in the dirt will scratch your paint. You mightn't notice it there and then but trust me, it is scratching it.

The best thing to do is use your car shampoo and the microfibre but only wash the areas that are dirty. I presume it's only along the bottom of the doors so just wash that.

What kind of shampoo are you using? As LM said, use one that doesn't strip wax. Personally, I don't like AG shampoo as it doesn't foam enough, the more foam you have, the more lubrication you'll have and that helps prevent scratching the paint.

Meguiars do excellent shampoos like Hyperwash or Shampoo Plus. You only need a small bit of each of these as the dilution rate is 128:1 for shampoo Plus and 400:1 for HyperWash. You buy them in 3.78 litre bottles.

I second the Meguairs suggestion. Very nice PH Neutral shampoos! :)

They're only Ph neutral if you adhere to the correct dilution ;)

Because you'll have most people just pouring the shampoo into a bucket until they are happy that there's enough in it then they will just add water to get it to foam ;)

Anyone ever use this site for buying a clutch or flywheel?

    They also advertise on donedeal.

Did a lot of pricing and they are €100 cheaper than anywhere else, for a 4 piece clutch and flywheel kit (Luk).

    Cheers.
