Murder probe after woman found dead at her home in Dundalk

A post mortem has established that 34-year-old Jacqueline McDonagh was beaten to death.
Her husband and children were in the house at the time.
Gardaí say they are keeping an open mind on the case and have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Ms McDonagh died after she sustained serious injuries to her head and body during the attack at her house at College Manor in Dundalk.
Gardaí have spoken briefly to her husband, but said that as he was extremely distressed they are waiting to speak to him again to see if he can assist with their inquiries.
The family moved to Dundalk from Finglas in Dublin last year because of an ongoing Traveller feud.

    Source.

Ok so we've decided to start a thread for discussion about this terrible incident.

Mod warning: Any form of traveller bashing will result in lengthy bans(even if you think its a joke) and any speculation will be deleted.

I've heard rumours but is there anything concrete to link this to a feud?

RIP to the unfortunate victim in this.

The husband was in the house at the time of the attack, and him being a champion street fighter you would think he could would have heard and stopped the attack on his wife, according to the Herald Gardai are sceptical of the possibility that masked men attacked the house, IMO the husband has some questions to answer.

This is going to get a lot of publicity due to her husband being a major part of the documentary Knuckle.

Pointless thread will end in bans. RIP though.

Actually only watched knuckle recently... thought she came across well in it.

RIP, sympathies to the family also.

It seems a bit strange that it happened while her husband and children were in the house. No point in commenting really until more info about the case is given.

What a weird case. In her own house with her family around? How?

RIP anyway, her poor kids must be in bits

Cant say anything yet. So I really dont know what the point is of this thread. Why is it even open?

Why did you start this thread? This is a pointless thread, as noone knows what happened yet. And cant comment yet. Definite bans everywhere, namely me. See ya pals

They had moved to Dundalk to escape feuds. It's clear that they just wanted to get away from the conflict and violence, but evidently it ended up finding them. Sad that there was no escape for them.

Unless it descends into discussion of Sabrina the Teenage Witch again, what more can we say? RIP?

    Weird thread tbh

Why include the fact that she was a traveler in the thread title? And then go on to say that generalizations etc will earn bans.. and no speculation allowed either?

What the hell is supposed to be discussed?

    R.I.P.

What a terrible way to die.

I hope it doesn't turn into a big feud resulting in the deaths of more people.

If this wasn't started someone else would have started it and it could have got very messy before mods got wind of it. Better to avoid the stuff that will get people bans than to dish them out.

Thread title should just have said Women beaten to death.

Interesting that the Mod used Traveller woman, then promises bans for discussiong travellers.

Poor girl. Hope they catch who ever is responsible fast.

    R.I.P

I put the fact that she was a traveler in the title because she was a member of the travelling community and to stop a million and one threads being started about the same topic.

Is that a generalization? No its a fact.

No speculation is a rule we enforce in a lot of threads like this.

If you actually read the opening post you would see i never once said that people couldn't discuss travelers.

It was going to come up and we all know people love getting all hysterical about Travellers.

Can't blame the mods really. Also, I think it's actually against the law to single out one group for criticism so boards probably have to be careful.

It should result in a prison sentence surely?

I think it was the most subtle way he could work in a traveller joke, without raising too much suspicion. Job well done, I'd say...
