Surely getting a striker in is priority ahead of Walcott?

Or a replacement for Lucas, if we are selling Spearing?

    Have people forgotten last season?

Talk over the weeks that Pacheco was off to Villareal, I think it was. But most Spanish clubs have very little cash, I can't see anyone stumping up £2M for Dani...
Forgot about him. He badly needs to get himself out of Anfield if the likes of Adam Morgan have moved ahead of him in the pecking order.

Agreed, should stick to loans. Wilson, Flanagan, Eccleston?

Eccleston in free to leave AFAIK but there'd be a tribunal if he did it without an agreement with Liverpool, so a price would be very low. Fulham hardly need him though, he's in his 20s and some of their younger attacking players are already better IMO.

Flanno maybe, though we're stretched in the full-back positions at the moment, even if Jose is coming back. That said, if Rodgers won't play Robinson at LB he probably won't play Flanno at RB. So maybe.

Wilson is the forgotten man. He'd benefit greatly from a loan I think, preferably not back to Rangers though as they're several levels lower than we'd like him to play at. A Championship club perhaps; I doubt Fulham would risk him in the first team and as such a loan would likely be pointless.

If we really are as interested in Walcott as is being reported then I imagine it's because he wants the front 3 to be completely interchangeable.

So that Borini Saurez and Walcott can all play left wing, ring wing and up front. It'd be a nightmare for defenders to contain but the main issue from what I have seen of all 3 is that none of them are clinical finishers.

Allen is ten times the replacement for Lucas that Spearing is.

I though Jonjo was class on Sunday as well when he came on.

Rumoured team: Reina Kelly Skrtel Carragher Downing Allen Henderson Gerrard Shelvey Morgan Suarez

    Downing at left back possibly.

If that's the line up Morgan will score.

You heard it here first :p

God, imagine the mania on here if he scored a couple?

That'd be an interesting team alright. BR is really experimenting with the young players which is very refreshing. I presume he's looking to get some early goals and then take Gerrard and Suarez off.

I think Downing at left back could be very good, he doesn't give the ball away too often and is a decent passer. Could physical size too.

"So, Thursday the 30th. Good night from the UK. There might be little time left."
Speaking of Pacheco, this cryptic tweet suggests he's leaving.

    That's Messi out so!

What are you basing that on? One game?

You could well be right but with Lucas out for 2/3 months and Spearing on the way out, it leaves us with Allen filling in. What happens if he gets injured? Hence my point about not rememebering last season. It also hinders Allens natural game no?

Shelvey did well, in fact he did very well.

He's no DM though and it still very inconsistent. He had a stinker v Hearts last Thursday.

Imo fúck Walcott and his ridiculous wages and bring in a top goalscorer and Dempsey, and sort out the DM backup.

Really unlikely we will have the money for all that

We don't need 'im. Showboat, one trick pony. Front three of Sterling, Assaidi and Morgan.

    Our year.

For me, the piece I have bolded is the critical thing with our interest in Walcott. Personally I regarded him of something of a pacy headless chicken which is probably a bit harsh, but even if he is improving I don't think he is what we need, which, as you have said, is a clinical finisher. Obviously, we trust Brendans judgement & perhaps he can be converted to a front-man rather than a winger, but I'd prefer someone who has a track record of being able to score 15+ league goals per season on a regular basis. Not too many of them about, but the likes of Huntelaar.

I think if he was worried about being without Lucas, Spearing would stay as cover. But it looks like he's gonna live without.

Dempsey for sure, and either Carroll stays, or he's replaced. But still no closer to knowing who he might replace him with...

The talk is spearing on loan to Bolton/Wolves. With regard to loan players can we recall them if we needed to (like Shelvey at Blackpool last year)

Any chance we could ask Uncle Mou for a loan of Diarra, too? ;)

In fairness to Cole, if this was your missus, you'd be agreeing with her too :pac:

Anyway, Llorente won't happen. He wants to move to a club competing for the league. Said as much earlier in the summer.

Shelvey or Henderson will be more effective at DM than Spearing. His use of the ball is not good enough and imo he is only average at the defensive side of things
