Was yours not as rough as a badgers a-hole?

True but the main parts and bits were where they should have been. Bodywork deliberately tatty but at least not mismatched wheels, hanging plastic, blown bulbs like what I just saw...

I've been sat here for the last hour, waiting for my friend of the lady kind to finish her appointment....

Soooo many tatty cars. Basic mistreatment to sheer neglect. Disgraceful

A lot of cars missing studs. Saw an Octy with just 2 studs on the back wheel

A Freelander began to race in traffic ie engine slowly crept up and up and up!

Lack of people wearing seatbelts, yappin on the phone. Saw someone sparking up and yappin on the phone while moving....

A lot of scabby modified cars about!

As you can see, boredom.... :pac:

    It's an MR2 with a body kit.

Looks cool, but you'd be an idiot to drive it?

Let's be fair, 90% of the people you pass won't know the difference. And a decent chunk of the other 10% would need a second look/listen.
I'm not doubting that in the slightest!

However, if I went up to you, and started to have a chat, and you told me it was an MR2, I'd call you a tosser...

    It's like putting an M badge on a 316 or Type R on a 1.4 or a 1.3VO

Or a Lexus badge on a Toyota :pac:

Why's there no internal pics? This upsets me greatly.

Your man selling the F40 also has a yellow fake 355 for sale. He says in the ad how he is regularly getting stopped for photos!

I think the F40 looks pretty cool but I'd feel like the biggest sham driving it.

How does something like that hold up with the Gardaí?

    I mean, it's essentially a fake car?

I doubt they would even notice useless the ANPR flagged it in which case would cause massive confusion amongst the traffic corps personnel!

Would be classed as a kit car I would imagine.

I would say it's insured as whatever the donor car is, i.e. an MR2 or whatever. Otherwise you would be looking at an engineers report, etc.

Just met a runaway diesel Santa Fe on the M2. Got there too late. Dry of oil and coolant reservoir popped apart. Lady wasn't too happy to hear her car was dead.

Why is it that I find driving around Dublin so stressful?

Take one 15 minute period. Just now:

Park outside Abrakebabra in Donnybrook so I can go to the new Tesco express shop. Absolutely easy, three empty spaces parking at an angle to the pavement (good size spaces too). Pay for 40c of parking as insurance, note another 3 empty spaces right beside but marked as loading bay. Get a few things come back outside to find the bus lane, 2 empty spaces and my car all blocked by an An Post van. Now it takes special skills to manage to block all that with a Transit sized van (loading bay not attractive, I guess). He's barely apologetic when he gets back. Inbound Donnybrook at 5:45pm on a weekday is not as busy as outbound but it's a major bus and other vehicle route into the city. Ah well, obviously special obnoxious points for that parking (no hazards flashing so maybe not as much as it could be)

Chalk it up to experience, take the car out and head inbound. At next junction (barely 100 yds away) Belmont Avenue, a woman starts walking across the road. Silly of her as I was not far away so I make sure I don't get much above a crawl. There's a pedestrian refuge in the road but she stops 2 paces before it forcing my crawl to become a stop. What can you say, she needs to adjust her skirt in the middle of a busy road rather than in the pedestrian refuge. Typical of a certain south Dublin matron attitude.

Move on, head down to Ballsbridge, along Shelboure Road and then to the 5 way junction (Shelbourne Road, Grand Canal Street, Haddington Road, Bath Avenue and South Lotts Road). I'm heading down South Lotts Road and am the first one at the junction so take my place on the right side of my lane. Stopped in the middle of the junction are two cars signalling down South Lotts Road. The front car needs to do his test again so that he can realise that he is stopped in the middle of a junction and that he is 50 feet beyond the stop line. He does not move forward so he is blocking the 5 routes (or at least the crossing ones). The cars behind him signal, m ove out and drive off in a different direction so as to avoid blocking the junction. He sits there in his brand new Corsa (12D122xx) with his kids arms dangling out of the wide open windows. He is completely oblivious to the cars using him as a roundabout. Ultimately I move behind him and down our mutual road. When we stopped,I had a very kind, subtle word about the dangling hands. He was thankful, I couldn't mention the poor driving as i'd have burst a blood vessel.

So, new consideration lessons for van drivers, maybe a new licensing regime for pedestrians and I despair of the last guy. Hopefully none of the kids will lose a limb.
