I have absolutely no issue with Suarez's attitude .

Give me a firey bastard any day. Hope he never loses that edge .

What do you want a team of Stewart Downings :0

    Right

Liverpool finished ahead of newcastle (5 places)the season before last, at the turn of the year last year, liverpool were ahead of newcastle in the table.

So in the past 2 seasons, over half of one season newcastle got more points than liverpool in the league.

Again, my contention is, this one 6 month spell donest make them a better team,

In the periods Liverpool were better, it was there or there abouts, with the only exception being the period after Kenny arrived. It should also be noted that that was Newcastles first season back up, and newly promoted sides are notorious for having poor second half's of the season

Anyway, forget every major league in the world. You obviously have a better way of judging team performances

Yeah true, I wouldn't like him to tone it down too much. I don't think he can anyway. But refs in England will have no hesitancy giving him yellows for shouting mean words at them

Yet you were quite clearly able to work out what he meant. My point still stands. Now lets move on.

when he said descent I thought he meant going down/diving?

you are qualifying most of what you said now,

what has that last sentence got to do with anything?

i am correct in what i said, 2010/11 season, liverpool finished ahead, half way through the next, liverpool are ahead, so there is only one half of a season where newcastle were better, thats irrefutable

Nobody's asking him to lose his edge, just to shut the fcuk up from time to time so that he doesn't leave the side stuck when he's banned down the road

Arguing with a ref is one of, if not the stupidest reasons for getting a yellow

Howard Webb appointed ref for the Arsenal match the weekend.

Is he worse for us or arsenal?

this!.....suarez`s attitude make him the player he is....ie. Roy Keane, Rooney etc. You take this away and you have a C.Adam and Downsyndrome type of players, LFC problem is that we don`t have enought players with Suarez edge and want to win.

huntelaar had 3 very average seasons before last, a sure thing he isn't

    Nonsense. Utter nonsense.

    - He scored 48 in 47 games last season. His first season of full fitness and first team football in 4 seasons.
    - He scored 13 in 35 games the previous year, after a year at each of Real and Milan. Even with all the moving and limited games in those two years, he scored 15 in 50 games in those 2 years, and a lot of those would have been sub performances.
    - At Ajax, in the 3 seasons from 05/08, he scored 117 goals in 97 games.
    - Has 31 goals in 56 games for Holland. Again, quite a few as a sub.

When he plays games, he scores goals.

No it doesn't. The likes of Keane, Rooney etc get booked for tackles, or their style of play (most of the time, though there are exceptions)

Suarez could be the same player, still be vocal, just not to the ref

you shouldn't have commented on it in the first place, i corrected a misspelling that annoyed me, nothing to do with you

What type of bollocks is this?

Shouldn't have commented on an open forum? Get over yourself.

I don't feel the need to be pretentious and go about correcting the grammar in people's posts, regardless of how much it annoys me, but I will move to try and stop people cluttering up a thread by pointing out every mistake someone makes.

It could just be a once off mistake, it could be dyslexia or whatever. Picking apart the grammar in somebody's post is only going to discourage them from posting in the future and that is the last thing we want.

Anyway, I've played my part in derailing this thread with this so I'm not commenting on this matter any further.

The last sentence related to the period over which sides are judged. The standard is one season

I've already said that I would agree that this time last year, Liverpool were the better side

This last season has proved differently though

I must have been in a different part of the crowd to yourself yesterday Kess as there were plenty of moans and groans at Borini throughout. He can whip up the crowd all he wants imo but as long as he's missing great chances i'll find it hard to get too excited about him. I still don't think he's a first 11 player but thats only my opinion. Was interesting to see him and Suarez changing throughout, i would agree Borini looks better when played through the centre (and Suarez looks better outside too so that would be win-win).

Allen had a good game but faded towards the end and was another to attract the moans and groans too as the game wore on. Personally i thought Gerrard and Shelvey were our two best players. Nice to see Stevie man-up after a poor showing the previous weekend. Was delighted to see David Silva on the bench, his touch is so good. Wonder how many goals Yaya Toure would score a season if they played him off a striker, players just bounce off the guy.

Strange match, came away disappointed not to win (especially after hearing the Arsenal full time result and Spurs slipping up Saturday) but we would have lost that sort of game last season probably conceding a third late on. I still think we need one more goalscorer brought in, and i'm really excited about seeing Sahin now. We are close to having a really good first 11.

Cannot speak for what it was like in the rest of the stadium, but I can tell you that in where I sit in the Kop there was plenty of noise for Borini and no moans about Allen.

As for Borini, as said earlier he was playing out of position and the right wide slot is by far his weakest position. Anyone who has seen him play will tell you that he is very ineffective on that flank so the performance he put in yesterday impressed me given how poor he has looked on the right in the past.

In the centre and then on the left are his best positions.

Bit worried that we're even offering him an extension. What will be bring to the team 24 months from now?

    Fair play to him .

Could have easily taken the extension and the money .

I don't like the slagging off he gets as people have very short memories of what he has done and achieved for the club.

I will never forget his double cramp in Istanbul :pac:

Form at Ajax is irrelevant because when he played for them, he was in a team of amazing players in a terrible league. I seem to remember Kezman being a monster playing in Eredivisie but when it came to any other league, he was abysmal. Afonso Alves was another Eredivisie goal machine who flopped badly when he was at Middlesborough.

The real barometer of Huntelaar's ability was Real and Milan. I can't say I saw him much at Real, but he was terrible at Milan and most fans were only too happy to see him leave. I think he would struggle in the Premier League to be honest.

Didn't offer he had the option of an extra year on his last contract which he has chosen not to exercise.

He told you this because it is against the rules, and as somebody who has been posting since 2003 you should know this. If all you are contributing to a thread is spelling correction........than you aren't contributing.

i don't recall seeing that rule, perhaps you'd be good enough to point it out?

I'm sure his swearing is also covered

    Lack of self discipline

I closed my old account last January, as I had quiet a bit going on, and anytime I opened the laptop to do some work, I ended up on here and was getting nothing done, hence my lack of self discipline necessitated it

The old account was initially a friends account (prior to ever joining the soccer forum), hence this account has my name instead of Tommy
