Any proof at all that they were? considering Feynoords asking was £5m and arsenal paid around half id imagine any of them could have come in and gazumped them.

Any proof they wanted 5m? Considering he wasn't wanted at the club I'd imagine they would have taken most offers

Yup it was in his post-match interview.

So Liverpool were 4pts better then Newcastle in the first half of last season, and Newcastle 13pts better off in the season as a whole. How does this make Liverpool a better side?

Anyone know about another top prospect on our hands in Jerome Sinclair. Outstanding by all accounts.
OPR is he any good ?

Found this hat trick by him :)

    .

In fairness Rafa should get a lot of credit for some of the youth prospects which could come through the next couple of years.

    Jordan Ibe
    Jerome Sinclair
    Joao Carlos Teixeira
    Adam Morgan
    Suzo
    To name but a few

what other criteria are there, because i can name some attacking players that were signed with smaller reputations who became household names

one of them signed for united this summer

Why did Van Persie have a smaller reputation than Moses or Sinclair have now?

He had three seasons down at Feyenoord and had twice won awards for young player of the year in Holland.

If not for discipline issues there would have been many more top teams in for him.

Maybe in terms of an English view point you could say that his reputation was smaller, but in Europe it would of far exceeded that of Moses and Sinclair right now I would think.

More proof than you have provided for anything yet:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2371643/Feyenoord-slap-5m-price-tag-on-Van-Persie.html

So now this supreme talent, wanted by all the top clubs in europe wasnt wanted for feynoord, in fact was so unwanted that they sold him for less than £3m?

You said that over a year that newcastle were a better side, thats incorrect,

they have accumulated more points than liverpool since christmas, coinciding with the whole suarez debacle.

Therefore i contend that newcastle arent a better team than liverpool

    maybe maybe not,

he was by no means a sure thing, and hadnt been prolific for feynoord.

He was a talented young player, but had enough uncertainty around him to be only worth £3m.

Moses and Sinclair both have pluses and negatives, but they both have potential.

My original contention is that they are stupid example of mid table premier league players, i stand by that.

All melion has done is thank posts that agree with his.

Jack Robinson just scored for the U21's against Palace. 2-1 to Liverpool

i dont know, because i dont have the same crystal ball that you do,

maybe torres breaks his leg in september and moses starts every game until christmas and scores hatfuls, maybe not.

But the boy has talent and may well make it

One thing i am sure about, is that he is one stupid example to use as somebody who will end up as a mid table player just after he has secured a move to a champions league champions

My crystal ball says Daniel Sturridge would most likely become the main striker if this happened and Chelsea fans would get pissed off as he continues to be sh*te. Chelsea would then spend ridiculous money in the January window to bring in a replacement.

So we should hang onto Carroll until Jan...?

Suarez is part of the Liverpool side, and its inevitable he's going to be banned from time to time. In the last two seasons, he's twice been banned for 8 games so that has to be factored in. He's already got a few yellows this season IIRC

Just like Brendan Rodgers is not yet a top 4 manager, Moses and Sinclair are not yet top 4 footballers.

Having the potential to be so and actually doing so are two different things.

You're basically handing them achievements when they have yet to actually earn them.

Thus far they have shown themselves to excel for bottom half teams. That is it. Give it a year at least before you can evaluate their impact at Chelsea and City before you can go about calling them top 4 players.

Suarez's discipline is atrocious in fairness.

    Another absolutely pointless yellow yesterday.

I'm guessing he's including his ban at Ajax for cannibalism.

    Edit: bit slow there.

Liverpool have signed Allen, Borini, Sahin, and Assaidi so far this season. Newcastle have signed nobody of note. You could make a case for Liverpool being a better team now. But not last season.

You can contend all you like, the league table doesn't lie. Teams end up where they deserve to be and Newcastle were the superior team last season. As were the other 6 teams who finished above Liverpool.

He didn't deserve that one, seems like you can't show any passion on the pitch.

Ref was harsh on us again yesterday, gave a number of fouls for Balotelli in particular, yet not for Borini, Suarez or Coates in very similar scenarios. He even gave a free out against Sterling for a clear foul on him...

where did i say there were now top 4 footballers?

in my post quoted i said they were poor examples of mid table players, i dont think thats unreasonable given that they both secured moves to top sides...
