Hi all

Was wondering does anyone have any good sites to recomend for car parts the only two I've ever used are www.micksgarage.ie for service parts, but keep getting told there expensive ( cheaper than the local autofactor). and www.partsfinder.ie when looking for a replacement wing mirror from breakers.

Thought this would have been a sticky in this forum .

Any help is much appreciated.

For general service and repair parts its very difficult to beat the local motorfactors for price especially as if you are anyway regular they'll usually give you the parts at trade price.

Things like a replacement wing mirror you might get a new one cheaper online but for second hand I doubt you'd find cheaper then ringing some local breakers yard.

Parts for more specialist cars would be a different story of course.

For ordinary service parts you will find it hard to beat the local guy, especially if he gives you "trade" prices. I mean regular stuff like oil, filters, spark plugs etc. Slightly more specialised stuff like brake pads can appear cheaper online, but if you need to bring them back because they don't fit exactly, you've got a problem. When you do need specialised parts like turbos, shafts or whatever, make sure to allow for currency conversion and postage before deciding to order online. I would normally go to e-bay for stuff like this rather than rely on a trader's site.

Have no affiliation with these guys.Use their Finglas branch for parts regularly and find them very resonable.Any time I'm there they are very busy which must be a good sign.
