I would still hold off the overall rating of the current squad and manager until we have a few more games under us. Last season, we often did very well against the big teams and seem to raise our game. The small ones were always our downfall.

Considering the awful performance against a "small team" like West Brom, and the great performance today against Man City, a "big team", I would caution jumping to conclusions yet on how the season will fare out.

We did'nt look as scary as we have been under free kicks and corners. I would take that as a good Rodgers influence so far and not much else.....yet

But we weren't awful against West Brom with 11 men.

He's not anti Rodgers'. He just doesn't think it's gonna work out. There's a difference. Llyod will be delighted if Rodgers' works wonders with us.

People judging today as definitely meaning we're on the right path are more deluded than those who think last week proves we're on the wrong path IMO.

We've put in numerous excellent performances over the last couple of seasons. Today's form (we didn't even win!) needs to contine for a while yet.

Absolutely, but for me I was delighted with the one touch football and how they are adapting to Rodgers style.

That is only going to get better with time.

I dont think anyone is anti Rodgers in the slightest. Some debates might look like that but its not about him, its about people making huge decisions that havent got a fkin scooby doo about football, you know who im referring to.

I find it difficult also to accept some of the crap that gets thrown at Henderson. He has played out of position a lot, come with a big 'tag' which hasn't helped him. He is still younger than Joe Allen and he doesnt have the benefit Allen will have of having the manager not knowing a huge amount about him.

Henderson and Allen could be a nice pairing in a few years...but......Henderson needs to play centre mid as box to box, not out on the right fkin wing filling in. He wont develop that way, he has only ever played there due to being a young player breaking through and being willing and able to do the position a bit of justice. Pretty sure he doesnt want to play there but i dont see him whinging over it either, which is a good sign.

I agree that he needs to play centre mid, but I don't think he's box to box. I think he would do well in the role Allen. I think he gets a bit panicy when he goes forward and he's been closed down. In a similar way to which Downing looks more comfortable at left back.

Yup. Ye have been game rausing for years today was and last week was a simple cobtinuation of the inconsistency that has blighted the club. Dalglish delivered many similar days as today. Until this form is cobtinued over a sustained period then I'll remain happy in the knowledge its a case of "same sh*t different msnager."

Oh come on Al, he called him a used car salesman. It's easy to do what he has done, if BR fails he can say he was right, if BR succeeds he can say he's happy to be wrong. Its bull and I'm surprised more people havent seen through it.

LOL with the ****e Llyods had thrown at him being so over the top, it's no wonder he has responded in kind. It's pretty clear where Llyod sits to me.

Did he have **** thrown at him by BR? It's not justified and you know it too. Like I said, he has put himself in a win-win situation just like he did with Sahin and it's embarrassing

I thought we had a more structured approach today than we did last season. The players seemed to know what was expected from them.

While we did outplay alot of teams last season, there was times when we didn't seem to have any real method or system to our play which was reflected in or inability to score.

I genuinely find it more embarrassing that a pretty tame opinion Llyod holds & a pretty tame insult he made (after weeks of constantly being harassed for his sensible opinion), is being reacted to this way. I've seen far far far worse said about Dalglish & Rafa, men who have earned respect & did great things for the club escape without any outrage.

I don't care how he feels about BR. It's his bullshít that annoys me, like I said, it's embarrassing for him to constantly search for ways to get into a win-win situation. We've seen it already with Sahin and will see it again whether BR succeeds or fails.

LL is clearly anti-Rodgers.....clearly, to anyone who has ever read his posts.....i'm not going to go off topic with you here....the evidence is there for all to see....

That insult was before a ball was kicked this season. Call it what you want, i call it a disgrace from a so-called fan.

He had no problem coming in here at the start of the summer giving us all examples of when he has been right in the past. IMO he would have no problem coming on here if BR was fired with a big fat "Told you so"

When you take a step and look at the bigger picture the players really are buying into Rodgers philosophy .

It wasn't that long ago that one of our opening games was also against City and we knowingly capitulated whilst under Woy.

Feck looking long term lets just put the same display in again next PL game so we can eventually move away from the boom and bust like seen last season .

It's also about 9 months ago that we played City off the park at Anfield and were unlucky to not take all 3 points. People need to kop on for **** sake.
