Beckham assists two, scores from corner.
Keane scores and is red carded.

    What was he carded for?

Nani, Nani, Nani, the boy has skills, no doubt, but he won't ever be reliable when needed the most. Against Everton the last night when he got a chance to float a nice cross into the box he couldn't even manage that. He'll get assists, he'll get goals, but he'll rarely, if ever, win a game that United would have lost without him in the team.

First card for diving, second for throwing a strop.

He has scored the first goal or made the first goal in alot of tight games last year .
If there was a anti thanks button id have seriusly considered giving it a push for that one.

Maybe if Sahin was interested Ian permanent move bit with it being a 12 month loan, with Sahin definitely returning to Madrid at the end of it, I don't see the sense in signing him(Utd that is.)

Genuine question though, IF Nani was solid before the transfer window closes do the Nani fans who think he is special and see him as a brilliant world class consistent player believe that the squad will be weakened significantly and could upset or title chances?
    ......

    Yes.

You not the first to say that, though another (good) poster I was chatting to seems to reckon he has a similarity to another ex-poster that no longer posts in here... I happen to agree - lot of the same 'unusual' terms used... ;)

Strong words. How about win a game that Utd would have drawn without him? Strange that you didn't phrase it that way.

Nani is an easy target when things aren't going well and you want to moan about a player. Sure he has some bad games but he is by far Utds most offensive player in terms of taking on players, dribbling etc and will have a higher percentage of losing the ball than most others due to theses points.

I think it's lazy and indeed way off the mark to criticise his overall contribution to Utd over the last few seasons. I've no problem with people criticising his last game or current form even but questioning the value of what he has contributed to Utd during his career is just bollix tbh.

Watching Sky, you can get good odds on RVP kissing the badge! :D
And both him and Rooney scoring

What are the odds on him jogging to emirites and sliding on his knees in front of arsenal fans.

United didn't "miss out" - he's joining for one season, and then going back t Madrid. If Madrid don't want him back in a year, it means he hasn't performed well enough.

It's well and good teams in Liverpool's position to be signing year long loan signings from the likes of Madrid, but it's not how United do business, and shouldn't be either.

Nani has won many games that we would have drawn or lost had it not for his contribution.

I'm not able to find the stats for previous season in whoscored.com. Will try to find it.

Im afraid im not part of the nani fan club either.I would have valencia ahead of him.I think the reason people judge nani so harshly is that he came with similar attributes as Ronaldo came with but hasnt developed into anything near the same player. His raw talent is so much that we expect a lot more from him

So because he hasn't turned into Ronaldo Mk.II, people don't rate him - that's an incredibly harsh yardstick by which to judge a player.

IMO Nani could be a world class player, to me it looks like he's the type of person who thinks he knows it all, doesn't believe that he needs to improve on his game, maybe he got the bigheaded attitude from Ronaldo but he's allowed be like that because he backs it up.

That's honestly pure bollocks, especially saying Nani is bigheaded. What evidence is there for this other than the fact he's Portuguese? Honestly, some of the shíte that gets spouted around here is unreal.

These stats, without Nani's contribution we would have dropped points. Not talking his other goals and assists into consideration,

    2009-10
Vs Arsenal (goal and assist) won 3-1
Vs Bayern (2 goals) won 3-2
Vs Sunderland (1 goal) won 1-0

    2010-11
Vs Everton (2 assists) 3-3 draw
Vs Liverpool (1 assist) won 3-2
Vs Bolton (Goal and assist) 2-2 draw
Vs WBA (1 goal) 2-2 draw
Vs Bursaspor (1 goal) won 1-0
Vs Spurs (1 goals and assist) won 2-0
Vs Villa (1 assist) 2-2 draw
Vs Stoke (1 goal and assist) won 2-1
Vs ManCity (1 Goal and 1 assist) won 2-1

    2011-12
Vs ManCity (2 goals) won 3-2
Vs Chelsea (1 goal and assist) won 3-1
Vs Stoke (1 goal) 1-1 draw
Vs Basel (1 assist) 3-3 draw
Vs Benfica (1 assist) 2-2 draw
Vs Aston Villa (1 assist) won 1-0
Vs Wolves (2 goals and assist) won 4-1
Vs Norwich (1 assist) won 2-1
Vs Everton (1 goal and 2 assist) 4-4 draw

Maybe the fact that every time something doesn't go right for him he seems to throw a strop, always throwing his hands about and shaping around the pitch, as I said its an opinion never said it was fact so relax (I'm also a fan of Nani so not trying to put him down)

He gets annoyed like all players can on occasion, it's not "everytime" and if that's the best you can come up with then it's a very thin argument imo.

Much more similar to this lad.

Sean's last activity is not long before Jame's account was opened.

A quick search shows they're the only people to have ever used the term "sacred cow" in the United thread. They also share some other phrases and use a lot of common language.

I mean, I'm not suggesting anything. I just found that interesting.

Well I'm not trying to argue all I said was IMO he comes across as a pretty arrogant person, he reminds me of Daniel Sturridge in a way, hugely talented but think they know it all.

He's much better than Sturridge ffs. Reading through the last few pages here and some people's opinions of Nani truly amaze me.

Well you cant really compare them in football terms as they're different players, I meant they seem to have similar attitudes, arrogant players

Well he does apparently have a life size marble statue of himself in his house:

    Rene Meulensteen on Buttner;
Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen has revealed that it was he who recommended Sir Alex Ferguson buy left-back Alexander Buttner.

"We see him as an aggressive, confident player who is always thinking ahead", Meulensteen told Voetbal International.

"That fits in well here. We have bought him for the potential we see in him. With a view to the future.

It is no accident that he was called up for Holland. Besides this, I am always watching what is happening in the Netherlands.

Therefore, I recommended him to the manager when I heard his name. He’s not bad I said."

The Manchester United coach is not expecting overnight results from Buttner though and stresses that life at Old Trafford is a world away from what he has known at present.

"With us Buttner will do high-level training, perhaps three, four, even five steps higher than he is accustomed to."

    Fergie on Buttner;
"Southampton, Fulham and another club made bids and he was close to a move," revealed Sir Alex, in an exclusive interview for next month's Inside United.

"We’d been monitoring the situation when he turned down Southampton, but we thought it was going to be pretty pricey. However, his contract was up next year so we moved in on the Thursday or Friday. We had to do it quickly.

Büttner is capable of providing a goal threat from left-back after initially playing further up the field. Alex has made good progress in the last year and is on the verge of the Dutch national team,"
    added Sir Alex.

"He’s a good last third of the field player who makes chances and can score goals. He’s scored five or six goals last season which, for a full-back, is quite good. We’re delighted to have him here."

Bit harsh on James he made some good points. But after the Everton game made some bizzare psts.
