Based on my request here, I found a decent basic spec PC on Amazon

Business PC with Windows 7 Professional for €211 shipped

Calculation: GBP199.99 minus 20% UK VAT is GBP167.67 times euro rate of 1.267 means a shipped price of about €211

Note, you do have to pay Irish VAT of 23% on top of this to Amazon, but you can deduct it here in Ireland, so net you only really pay €211 for this PC

This would have been cheap enough with Windows 7 Home but inho is a true bargain with Windows 7 Professional

Nice price but misleading title as most people can't claim VAT back.

I suppose by including "Business PC" in the title it eventually makes sense :)

Title has the word business in it for a reason ;)

Anyway, only one left now (more on the way)

Some people have bought one since I started the thread :D

When you buy something from Amazon.co.uk, they charge you Irish VAT at 23%. Have a look at a recent invoice from them if you have one

(Amazon hand this money back to the Irish government)

This Irish VAT is fully deductible from your VAT bill here

It's hardly even worth £199.99 let alone £300+ to be honest. Celeron + 2GB Ram + presumably a 5400RPM HDD make for a hellishly slow computer.

Its still there, amazon must have swapped the link or something. I think its a good buy if somebody needs a PC for a basic tasks, I would definitely urge somebody to spend an extra 100-200 euro on a better processor if its there main PC.

I'd sooner spend money on some more RAM. Another 2 or preferably 4GB would have it running smoothly. The CPU isn't actually *too* bad. Performance wise, it'd be like a mobile i3 which is plenty powerful for office work and browsing.

I'd worry about the quality of the PSU though. It's the only part (Other than the case) that the manufacturer can really skimp out on and a bad PSU can cause a hell of a lot of problems.
