Rooney will not be dropped; SAF has said himself he needs game for his sharpness. I'd play this:

    De Gea

    Rafael --Carrick/Evans--Vidic---Evra

    Valencia---Kagawa--Cleverly--Nani-

    Roooney----RVP

I know Rooney was poor but he needs the games IMO. Nani was also very poor but knowing him will be unstoppable on Saturday.

Kagawa and Cleverly is a bit lightweight but can't see Scholes starting again; not sure if Anderson is fit enough yet.

Would still have the likes of Chico, Welbeck, Young, Scholes on the bench! That should be enough even for the impressive looking Fulham side.

The Team Mitch posted but with Scholes in place of Carrick and Carrick instead of Evans if Evans in not fit to play.

    De Gea

    Rafael-Evans-Vidic-Evra
    Carrick-Cleverley
    Valencia-Rooney-Kagawa
    van Persie

Lindegaard, Wooton, Buttner, Hernandez, Welbeck, Young, Scholes.

Very early for Buttner, but he isn't a youth prospect and we have f-all other senior defensive players to select, so no harm having him on the bench.

Do i need glasses or are you saying you wouldnt have our best winger and most creative player even on the bench

Do people really think Welbeck was as poor as Nani and Rooney vs Everton?

    Darren Can ‏@Darren_Can
Angelo Henriquez is getting his visa as he heads towards Man Utd. Busy summer at Old Trafford.

welbeck did alright. hes going to be a star imo. only thing thats going to hold him back is competition - could be the making of him though

I think this is the team that will play (not necessarily the one I'd pick).

    De Gea

    Rafael - Vidic - Evans - Evra

    Carrick - Cleverley

    Valencia - Kagawa - Welbeck

    Rooney

Just think SAF will stick with mostly the same team with Nani dropped. Rooney needs to find his form and I would doubt that RVP is ready to start and play a full 90. Only change I think might happen might be Young for Welbeck. I'd say he'll reckon that the team had plenty of possession against Everton but struggled to create chances, whereas at home that shouldn't be a problem.

I dont think he was anywhere near as poor but the couple of chances he had to go clean through would of annoyed SAF no end. I reckon there's a chance he could be left out on Saturday.

i thought Welbeck was really poor the last night.

I'd say Van Persie will start. Him and Welbeck's roles might be reversed, with Welbeck coming on after an hour, depending on the game of course.

    Who is Darren Can?

i thought Welbeck was really poor the last night.

I second this. Twice he was put through and allowed himself to be caught. I think Rooney would have done better with both chances.

A lot of talk over the summer was about a change of system but I think Fergie will use the home advantage of OT and the typical 442 to blow away some of the weaker teams. Fulham might just be one of those games.

That is why I would like to see Kag feeding the ball to a front two of RVP and Rooney on Saturday.

Welbeck was terrible Monday night, getting caught for pace in a race with Phil Jagielka was very surprising.
Does our training need to be looked at??? All these injuries and lack of fitness from some players....

Cool, no matter anyway, I thought for a second he was talking about that Mexican midfielder but I see he was on about the Chilean lad. Not as exciting obv!

We had 69% possession and yet created very little. Thats a worry and points to players like Rooney and Welbeck, more then Scholes and Cleverly

yeh, rooney looked well off the pace too.

I'm thinking its all of these ****e friendlies we play in the far east that has an impact on us. usually we play a charity shield which sets the tone for the year too.

anyway ,there is always next week

I was actually surprised how unfit Rooney looked, he always looks to be carrying a bit of weight but he seemed wrecked the other night, on the other hand Tevez looks as fit as ever,(Runs for cover):pac:

Seriously though maybe the training might need to be looked at because I remember Rooney came back from that Nike training centre and he was super fit.

    Fryers to Standard Liege confirmed (Official site link below);

    Quote from site (Translated);
Jean-François de SART: "we had spotted Ezekiel two years in the Elite tournament which England and the Belgium were involved. We followed since. It was end-of-contract with Manchester United and it was a beautiful opportunity that we cannot miss."

    Nevland

    Fair play getting
    Nevland.

He's also the 6th player that's played in the Premier League for United and Fulham on top of the 5 from yesterday.

Anything on the fee we will be getting for Fryers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,721 ✭✭✭Al Capwned

What i'd like to see :-
    de Gea
    Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra,
    Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Young,
    Kagawa,
    RVP.

What I think we will see :-
    deGea
    Rafael, Vidic, Carrick, Evra,
    Valencia, Cleverley, Scholes, Young,
    Kagawa,
    Rooney.

Reasoning? Ah I dunno, maybe if evans is fit, scholes wont start, and Carrick will pop in beside Cleverley.

I really can't see Fergie not playing Rooney though...

Nada I think. If he went to Spurs we would of received compensation as he's under 23.

So good we picked him twice.

Didn't we get fee for Pogba?

Arsenal paid for Fabregas too right and we paid for Petrucci, Macheda, Pogba.

Since scouts came up earlier I think we may send some to Swansea this year. They have a few potentially exciting players and Taylor looks good at Full back every time I see him.

Is Henriquez a striker like Ruud or more of a Rooney type does anyone know?
