We don't play with a DM anymore and haven't since ~2009. Arseblog is right in saying that Song was our most defensive midfielder but he wasn't a defensive midfielder.

Tbh I think if we get Sahin in then we're fine midfield wise and I'd be inclined to give Jenkinson the chance to be the back up RB after his performance Saturday. The area we need strengthening imo, especially if Arshavin goes to Zenit, is on the flanks at LW. Preferably a person who can play up top too. Don't know who that is but we're light in that area imo.

I reckon Podolski is good to go in that Role.

I have to admid i'd like another striker :D

If Podolski does play that role then we've only Giroud up top. You can see how I think we're light in that area.

I do think Wenger is using Santos as a left winger this season and will get in a LB instead of using the Brazilian. That will keep Pod up top with Giroud.

EDIT: That's based on where Santos has played pre-season.

Podolski out wide and Llorente up front please.

I'm killed saying it but there's no way we'll sign Llorente.

Do you not want to give Giroud a chance or what?!

I just think Podolski is far more effective out wide and if he is deployed there I don't want a scenario where we end up playing Chamak/Bendtner/Park for any significant amount of game time.

Shame we didn't get that Niang from Caen - would have been useful option - no one's actually signed him yet, have they ?

Early season games sell out easily. Optimism and all that. There'll home games on General Sale before Xmas depending on how well we go.

It still shouldnt be too much bother getting a ticket but compared to this time last year, I remember Swansea at home went on general sale.

We were in absolute shite at that time though you have to remember - a lot of people were calling for the Bosses head.

That is true. I was hopeful of getting a ticket for Chelsea at home. I think I can forget that now! It is much easier to get tickets in the second half of the season alright. Man City at home last year were very easy to get.

Where would the best place be to pick up tickets other than the official site? Like fan forums or other vendors?

Can you just turn up on the ground at the day and get ticket from the ticket office for those games?

Guillem Balague has tweeted that both clubs have now agreed on the loan deal and it's now down to the player to agree. We will know in a few days

I know - has there ever been a more drawn out process for a loan signing ?

It looks like we could also still be in for a striker as backup, if this is to believed.
