I'm watching True Romance. Top Gun is cheesy awesomeness though, most unneccessary beach volleyball scene ever.

Saw it a good few times before I copped that Tim Robbins was in it

I can't watch it without seeing Val Kilmer as he is today. He won't be getting into a flight suit any time soon, a damn shame that he seems to be following Marlon Brando's diet.

    Batman really let himself go.

Kilmer is meant to be an absolute dickhead to work with as well, which is a pity as he can act when he wants, he's great in Heat, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is ****ing hilarious.

It is a better love story than Twilight...

This says it all when it comes to Top Gun.

I nearly know the ending dialogue of that film by heart.

It is a strange Iconic film we all know parts of it.

Last week I texted my mate who was waiting in the pub

"Maverick going supersonic be there in 30 seconds"

Why would I have an urge to do that? Is today of some significance or something?

I intend to watch True Romance. Top Gun is as gay as a film can get (and as a gay guy myself - believe me - I know what I'm talking about) without being an actual gay porno. It's also not that great a film really.

The beach volleyball scene is like something straight out of a TitanMan or HotHouse porn film.:pac:;)

Trivia - another gay aspect of Top Gun is that Kelly McGillis, the female lead, came out as a lesbian herself a few years back. What does that tell you about TG?:D

Pity they had to invent the "ride my tail" quote to make it sound gay. Top Gun is gay and cheesy enough without having to make up gay quotes.

Don't spoil my childhood memories of watching this every time we were at RAF Benson waiting for a 35 minute flight in a Chipmunk - then getting up there pretending it was a fighter jet!

    Is Jerry Bruckheimer gone too?:eek::p

I don't go in for all this Top Gun bashing, aesthetically it's hard to beat.

I don't know if I believe the dickhead thing I have to say. When he was doing Kiss Kiss with Downey he stopped drinking for the whole shoot to support Downey who had just gone dry at the time. The whole crew would be out partying sometimes and he'd stay with Downey just shooting the **** and keeping him company.

Listen we all say crazy things in the heat of the moment but lets not make outlandish statements like that . . .

Now lets get on with what we all came here for:

True Romance is my favourite movie, could watch it over and over - in fact I am gonna watch it now.
Some really great scenes, great characters, great score, and what a cast...
    Alabama Whorley, what a peach.
Only realised today that he had directed it - kudos to him

It's hardly gay. It's got top hetero actor Tom Cruise.

If that's true then that's pretty cool of him.
