Any film starring Jim Carey or Adam Sandler.
I'd pretty much agree with you if it wasn't for Punch Drunk Love. Sandler is good in that from what I can remember. ;)

I hate bad Irish accents in movies, Gerard Butler in P.S I Love One.......*shudder*

Although that does raise the question, wtf I was doing watching that tripe in the first place! :o

The way people are given 3 seconds to answer their door before someone rings the bell again or starts furiously knocking, I'm always thinking "give em a fcuking chance!"

Also when people talk on the phone and there is no way in hell the person on the other end has had the chance to say anything remotely as long as what's repeated by the person on the other end (that makes sense in my head?)

Finally when people are driving and either stare for about ten seconds at the person next to them without checking the road or else when they keep furiously steering even though there's no way a road has that many little turns in it!

I think some of the Pixar ones are great. I am going to see Brave later on.

Superfluous characters in the cast of a movie for the sake of gender-balance or race-balance

I hate the depiction of computers in films. Even though a huge percentage of the population knows what they're seeing is NOTHING LIKE REALITY, they insist on coming up with some kind of crazy graphical stuff anyway. Swordfish might have been the worst ever.

Ditto rap stars who, ironically, always play someone like a detective / cop :pac:

    1. Flashbacks that show the character experiencing the events. Surely a flashback should be from their point of view only.

    2. Annoying child characters added to appeal to the kiddie demographic..........The Phantom Menace.

not all of them now, Toy Story is one of the exceptions, but films like shrek 3,4 etc that are being milked and many other crappy animations

For the sake of your sanity, never watch Lost.

Anybody ever notice that in scenes involving cop cars, they always have the same cop radio repeating in the background. They do this in nearly every movie, tv show, and some games for the past 30 years now. It wrecks my head.

    This!

Lens flare, the new Star Trek film should have been called The Search for Blindness 'cause there was so much of it! Drives me fcuking mental!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,369 ✭✭✭✭ejmaztec

Steven Seagal slapping someone around for a 20 minute scene to make the movie last longer than an hour, and that person not even looking like he's been slapped around because the budget won't stretch to a bit of red black and blue make-up.

... and the big lump Steven Seagal managing to run after an athletic looking crook and catch up with him without falling to the ground clutching his chest and wheezing his lungs out

A deus ex machina . Surefire way to ruin a movie (except in Dodgeball, where the ending came in a chest with deus ex machina written on it)

You need to see a doctor about that unfortunate condition you have. The new Star Trek film was fantastic.

The film itself is brilliant, I loved it, but the lens flare in it drove me twisted. Watch it again now that it's been pointed out and you should see how annoying it is :)

    In no particular order:

    1) Poor voice audio, Lots of films make some speech incomprehensible

    2) Why does every bomb device in films always have a countdown clock?

    3) Ben Stiller

    4) 99% of romantic comedies

    5) Actors with bad accents, just get an actor from the portrayed country
