Anyone got the Citylink in the morning from Athlone to Dublin airport? It says scheduled arrival is 8.25am, but with a 9.20 departure I'm worried I'd be chancing it. Can the traffic be unpredictable going in?
    Cheers

Way too tight, remember the airport could be very busy too.

Yep, thanks. I also noticed that on another timetable the arrival is shown to be 8.55am! Bit of a pain, it's the only morning bus.

NTA journey planner gives train 0515 arr 0700, 747 bus 0715 arr 0757.

Also the 0825 arrival time seems to be only effective from next week, at present the Citylink timetable says 0855.

Would be a good choice if the train wasn't so expensive.

I don't know what day you're leaving but the fare for Thursday is 27.50 euro online return (including CC charges) plus the 10 return for the Airlink bus. Shame IE haven't come up with an add-on fare for 747 as they have for "An Lar", it really shows how they haven't recognised the competition from airport coaches.

Best case scenario would be to just get the airlink straight the airport. Irish Rail does need to come up with incentives for people to travel with them - it is more comfortable on the train but it is just a bit much.
