So with Gamescom kicking off tomorrow, there's unsurprisingly been a bunch of press releases and even conferences on already.

I just flicked through the Sony one and one of their newly announced games for the PS3 is the rather awesome looking Puppeteer from Japan Studio.

They've also announced Crossbuy, an initiative whereby when you buy a PS3 game, you get the Vita version for free.

There was also a new Media Molecule game for the Vita, Tearaway, which looks pretty funky.

Finally there's Rain for the PSN which is an interesting concept at least. Should be interesting to see how it comes together.

Half Life 3 was listed by GamesCom to be shown at the event earlier today. Valve have since requested that they take down the information - probably just another red herring, but for quite a while today people were convinced we were set for a major announcement. A GamesCom spokesperson is insisting that the information was included on request by Valve.

Half Life 3 confirmed at Gamescom?

EA was strong but nothing new which was a shame. Sony had a good show, Until dawn looks good and scary if done right it could be great. Media molecule got some reception it was borderline pop star like :-) . Fifa move has gotten it so wrong its not funny, COD declasifield looks pretty bad.

Hitting the show floor tomorrow want to play the last of us if its playable just to see how they handle combat I can't figure it out from the clips unless they use qte.

    So much to see

In fairness, Dragon Age 3 was also listed but was similarly removed due to it being a "mistake" on behalf of the organisers, according to the EG article at least. :o

Just back from Cologne another hard week put down playing games and drinking too much :D much quieter than last year you can really see the industry is taking its hit from the downturn mixed with the console turn over period. No freebies to speak of, I got one Polo shirt where as last year i came home with around 10 t-shirts. Even walking around the floor the booths that would have guys throwing out bits and bobs where just showing games which when you think about it is probably a good thing.

Microsoft were missing completely, Nintendo apart from the Ubisoft booths had no real presence either. It was mainly Sony, EA, Activision but a huge upturn in the online F2P area's they had huge booths and got an extra hall to them selves rather than being tucked into one spot. End of Nations, Warface, World of tanks/plane, League of legends etc all had the biggest set ups outside of EA.

It was a good show i got to play Sim City, metal gear rising, MOH, Crysis3, Warface,More Dust 514, met Rocket (DayZ), David Cage (Beyond Two souls), Naughty Dog the voice actors behind the last of US. Pro Evo Dev's as well as a whole host of others in a whirl wind few days.

Im getting too old for it im glad to be home bar the rain.

    How was Metal gear rising

Its good but strange not your typical metal gear sneaking around its a full on assault you attack with the face buttons and the right stick controls the sword for heavy attacks. I played a kind of tutorial section at the end you fight an attack helicopter and jump up and slice it apart

Lots of combos and played really well.

How are MOH warfighter and Sim City coming along?

MOH is really good plays really well, I loved the 2010 game so prob not the best person to ask for an objective opinion. the fire teams is a good idea and works well. they did there own multiplayer this time too so that's a plus.

sim city I'm not sure about its quite different. rather than zone areas in little squares, you first have to lay the road then you can zone along the road frontage.

water network was part of the road network and not seperate like before. it is a bit too childish and easy and there are a lot of things popping on screen to talk to this guy or that person to solve individual problems.

spent about 30 mins with it and liked it but a bit worried about it being made for mass appeal with it being too close to the personal management of the Sims rather than the civic management of sim city if that makes sense.
