Think I'll take a break from posting in this thread until the WUMs have tired themselves out.

Keeping him sweet for next summer's squad raid.;-)

It's really an honourable position to be in when other teams prize your players. It speaks volumes that they would target your players and pay such money for one who had one good season in eight. Now we have a great centre-half called Squillache who would do wonders for Utd.

People saying van persie deserves all these horrible things to befall him is terrible really.
Before you justify it with oh well your fans did this 5 ,10,15 years ago is equally bad.
Every group of supporters have its bad eggs . Dont use them to justify yourself being one.
A few english people took over ireland before and killed alot of people. Would that justify me killing a load of english people at a football match because of what their supporters did.
    Its absolutely juvenile.
It doesnt matter why he left he made a choice . He doesnt deserve physical pain .
I honestly am disgusted with what went on in this thread today and wont use it as a benchmark for judging arsenal fans . Im sure there is other forums where intelligent normal arsenal fans go to discuss their team and not spill hatred .
    Did ian huntley support united?
So by your line of thinking you can do what he done as well and no united fan could complain .
It has honestly let me down .

Good choice of captain this time. For the first time since Tony Adams it hasn't been used as a means to get a few more years out of a wantaway player. Happy that Arteta has been given the VC role too.

In the unlikely event that any of them post on a Irish forum I'd say they'll be suitably cowed by your well thought out jibe.

It wouldn't necessarily take a well thought out jibe to cow them.

Even an poorly-thought out jibe would do the trick.

Calm yourself down, you could probably count on one hand the posts you are referring to. 99% of the posts here today were fine. No need for the histrionics...

Do you think they match up with the 2 squads I mentioned? Arsenal have 1 world class player at a push(Vermaelen).

And how many do united have ?
rooney and RVP are the only two that stand out unless you still count the aging geriatric or the sister in law shagger.

Look at Spurs they have a couple.
Look at Chelsea and you see another bunch of past it players.
City have by far the best squad where you have world class players dotted around the team.
Mind you they have their fair share of nutjobs as well.

It's more about where a club's star players would go.

Mark Hughes to Barcelona and Ronaldo and David Beckham to Real Madrid are the only examples I can think of United players "moving up in the world". And Beckham was "sold".

Everyone else (e.g. Tevez, Ince, Stam) was allowed to leave and move sideways at best rather than to "bigger clubs".

    Ehh you forgot
Van Nistelrooy and Veron (and Veron was world class before you got him)

Oh and I couldn't give a sh**e whether beckham was sold, bartered, swapped or slave traded.
Nah Squillaci would only be revenge for Silvestre!

Those two do say something about the standard or French international defenders over the last 10 odd years.

I am not allowed discuss …

As a neutral it's hilarious seeing Arsenal fans saying he moved for money. I really doubt that's true, he has a few years left at the top, Arsenal will not win the league in that time. The man wants to win trophies and Arsenal don't look like being able to provide that.

That's a bit presumptuous dont you think? If he stayed, Arsenal had a very realistic chance of winning a trophy this year and I might also add that we still have a good chance of doing so in his absence.

The dude went for the money- simples!

And when Rooney announced he was leaving. A few Utd fans in masks even called to his house to wish him luck.

I remember a group of United fans gathered outside Wayne Rooneys house after he made that famous transfer request all those years ago.

    Anyone else remember that?

I also recall a banner at a European game saying they wouldn't forgive him. They also referred to his previous use of prostitutes.

No one in Old Trafford likes to talk about that any more though.
Yeah forgot about that one, he even said, that he believed they couldnt compete with city, but a fat new contract was enough to change his mind.

A good few have short memories of that alright. I for one would have been happy to see him leave after that, I still want him gone, a player shouldnt be kept at a club after going public like that. I it ok to have reservations and air them within the club but to go to outside with them damages image.

To say he moved for trophies is also bull. This is presumably Fergies last season (how old is he anyway, 98?!) and after he leaves I am going to laugh at Man U as they sink down the table, taking their "stars" with them. Ferguson is an incredible manager. Probably the best ever. I can't wait for him to retire ;)

    source?

Having been watching a load of highlights from previous seasons I'd forgotten just how woeful Clichy was at times.

Van Nistelrooy and Veron were allowed to leave (in fact, getting £15m for Veron was a great deal considering he left Chelsea for nothing soon after).

As for United not having many world class players, you're barking up the wrong tree there...

    Rooney
    Van Persie
    Vidic
    Evra
    Nani
    Valencia
    Kagawa
    Scholes

If that's true then I think it's my all time low as an Arsenal fan and that goes back to 1967. Bad day for Arsenal football. My two favourite Arsenal players of the last few years gone in one day. Feel sad now.

    I missed that one.

Scholes and Evra are world class players?

That seriously calls Jame Gumbs football credibility into question.

Maybe he should stick to making vague paedophile jokes at Wengers expense in the United thread. That appears to be his level.
