I e-mailed the Rockville Drive people and they rang me & said the house isn't for students, so that one is out. I also e-mailed the Patrick Street people and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. There was no option to e-mail the Cabinteely people, just a phone number, but I haven't rang it.

I noticed the Patrick Street one says it has a BER rating of G, which is like the worst rating possible, so electricity bills & that would probably be massive :l I didn't think of checking that sort of thing but I just noticed it was added to the advertisement today.. I'll see what they say back anyway.

The Patrick Street guy asked me what time suits on the 18th. What time suits any of you?

edit; I told him 3pm so hopefully that's ok for whoever of you wants to see it too?

Nah I didn't ask him, maybe we can ask when we see it! Is 3 on Saturday ok for you? He asked if there was a gang of 5 of us, I said that there is 5 of us interested but I'm not sure how many would be going. Yeah that place would be cool too but it says unfurnished, effort of putting our own furniture in :(

& I'm kinda noticing that no one else who replied before is saying they'd like to go see these places too :/ hopefully they do before Saturday to make it worth the while though :)

Hi, sorry haven't logged on recently. Original username1 best of luck tomorrow with the results and to all others awaiting their results. Tbh all this looking for accommodation is tiring. I'm trying to keep my options open, staying with a group like we have been discussing and also sharing but on my own. I'd be up for attending a viewing, I'm just over a 2hr drive from Dublin. I'm sure we all have enough stress thinking about courses so to get somewhere to stay wrapped up would take a load off.

(edit) just wondering what would be the farthest you would be willing to be from the college. All I'm doing is google maps then trying out the bus route. I guess in an ideal world the closer the better but its not that simple I suppose.

I wouldn't mind going as far as the city , Ive just been thinking along the lines of the number 7 bus route cus its the one I used all last year. it goes from the city and goes out by the RDS through merrion, booterstown, blackrock, dun laoghaire, killiney and on out to loughlinstown, then theres the other surroundings areas like monkstown and glenageary :)

Yeah it's hard work! Well I wouldn't mind living maybe no more than about 40 mins drive away from my college as long as there was handy buses to get there. I was told at my college interview that my course is only going to be 3 days a week so it wouldn't be too much work living further away! The more house suggestions we get the better so if you see any ones you like, link them here :)

Hey guys, don't know What ye think of this but was just looking through the share adds and found this http://www.rent.ie/rooms-to-rent/Church-Road-Killiney-Co-Dublin/649278/ says there is a single, double and twin room available and that there is 4 other proffesionals living there already...the rent is quite cheap but i was thinking with it being 'proffessionals' and not students would you be able to have the craic or would it be a bit dry......just putting it out there haha :P

Well from their pictures they seem to have a funny side. I think when you're sharing together there's a time for working and then a time for relaxing, as long as one another respect's everyones space it shouldn't matter if you're a student or "professional". If you two girls didn't mind sharing together you could have your rent at €200 each. I know you'd like your own space but something to consider. That property is females only in case anyone else was intereted.

I was looking at that one earlier then the thing about the people who live there being in ''full time employment'' put me off a bit haha, just had the same thought about it as you, tbh living in a dry house would be the worst case scenario for me haha but we could ask them & see if they'd mind living with students! If they're not dry then they won't say no right away :P

Didn't notice that only females thing 'till just now :/ Still like the idea of knowing I'd be living with students better though so depends what yas think :) You going to come on Saturday board stiff?

yeah I'm kinda skeptical too. I wonder if they're middle aged or whatever but I suppose we can't really ask them something like that ha maybe, do you think it'd be worth viewing? If we're there anyway it can't hurt :) I don't know but I hope they can reply before Saturday! Got my Leaving Cert results today btw & got what I needed so I'm definitely going :D

    No problem :)

If your looking for as cheap rent as possible try looking at places outside Dun Laoghaire and take the DART to college each morning :D

That's what I did and I got a place in Santry with rent at 200 coins a month, the DART will cost 20 a week so thats 280 a month, which is a lot better than paying 400 on just rent alone :L

    Just an idea :pac:

Someone posted the St.Pats Crescent one, but it has 4 bedrooms. And would we all meet at the property or in the centre of Dun Laoghaire. I'm easy either way, maybe we could meet up before seeing the property, have a bit of an informal chat :)
