Wenger wouldn't sell song unless he had a replacement lines up

True, but it all depends on who he thinks the replacement is. If its Coquelin, Diaby or Frimpong then we're in trouble.

Too early for coq cant trust diaby and I really don't think frimpong will make it

We could spend a couple of million of the transfer fee buying Martin Taylor and Dan Smith and then loan them out to Everton before the weekend. :D

I don't think Dan Smith will be able to get the time off his call centre job in 2Touch. By the way, he was playing in Northern League division 2 up until recently when he signed for Darlington 1883 and yes, apparently he's just as big a wanker as Arsenal fans think he is. Not one person I've spoke to that knows him has anything good to say about him.

I think Frimpong could certainly make it, he just needs to stay injury free.Ive seen him play some great games and the fact he loves the club and shows so much passion for it wants me wish he makes it all that more. He what the club needs players who care for the club.

But I do agree if Song does go we cant rely on hte above three yet so Wenger really needs tohave someone lined up as a reayd made replacement not give ussue we have susch and such coming thorugh well be grand.

There less accurate than the rags, however I'm always nervous, theres never smoke without fire. Too many reports now of meetings etc.

$15m is a shocking price though

Too be fair, 15 is shocking low. As a Barca fan i'd view that as a steal for a great player. I loved how any time i'd watch Arsenal highlights he seemed to create opportunities from deep. As a replacement for Keita.. yes please.

I do feel for you Arsenal fans though, in a summer where ye did splash the cash on international players(Massive Cazorla fan) ye again look to have lost your two best players for the season just gone.

Who do you guys expect to land with the newly raised cash from RVP presuming you reinvest which seems likely.

Wenger better have a plan for this.

I presume there is a plan.

This plan better not be Diaby.

If Song goes we have a serious issue in midfield. It will be like a sieve through the centre and even if we get in someone to replace Song we will still be short for that position which is so frustrating. We have no cover really for it at all.

Diaby is not a DM, Coq is unproven and would need a pretty long bedding in period, which we cannot afford and Frimpong is like a dog without a leash.

If he's gambling on Diaby to stay fit, it's madness tbh.
Unless Diabys legs have finally been given permission to play a full season. :p

I'm pretty sure Wenger doesn't look upon Diaby as a DM like most comments around here expect.
I think that image is because he is so similar in size to Vieira that people expect him to be similar in playing style.
Not sure what the answer for Song's replacement will be but doubt Diaby would be considered a like-for-like by Wenger.

these are some other tweets from Le Grove on Song, i've done the reverse of twitter here; most recent last http://twitter.com/LeGrove
On the attitude thing with Song... let's just say he's been very vocal for a while about the type of club he could be playing for.
I've heard he's had a negative impact on some of the other players in the squad as well.
A bit of news from my contact, Song has said his goodbyes (I know it's elsewhere). So it is adios to Alex Song confirmed.
I'll also be able to give you more detail on his attitude problems... but this isn't a new thing, it's been going on for ages.

    I trust him too.

I'd just like to know what he's going to do about it.

In fairness to Spurs thats a £13m hit in a season but as Bounty Hunter said they got fourth which usually gets champions league football, which would be worth more than £13m, they were just unlucky that Chelsea won a penalty shootout. Any other year and they would have felt it was worth it. I see your point though and especially since Nasri and Van Persie only had a year left on their contracts.

Forgot about that, the gamble would have balanced out really if it wasn't for Chelski's win

Suppose if Song is gone as well might as well get all our bad transfer news in one lump. Rather than having to wait around for two weeks for the will he won't he frenzy.

One thing Wenger better get right this window is his selection of captain. I feel he has got it horribly wrong over the last while. We need to have a strong character who will not take any crap from these players. If Song does have this bad attitude that is being rumoured then I have no problem with letting him go, although the fee of £15m would be a joke, Allen went to Liverpool for that fee.

The team and era of Fabregas, Van Persie, Gallas etc was a failure, so hopefully our next squad will step up to the plate.

Were we dealing with Liverpool, we'd have got £40m.

I'd love to see us go for Gokan Inler to replace Song, but knowing Wenger it will be Coq and Frimmy and that's your lot lads!

It really is a new team at this stage and it is very exciting to see how we will operate regardless of the rubbish of RvP/Song hanging in the air.

I cannot wait for Saturday kick off :)

    2-0.

    Podolski, Walcott.

    Spurs to draw.

Early 2 point advantage in the race for fourth!.

Been thinking this a lot this past week. That team was really built around Fabregas and once he left it was time to start over.

Those players who had been thru the deja vu of close calls in the league and getting knocked out by Barca/United 3 years in a row in the CL had their chance over 3 or 4 years and failed to take it no matter what way we look at it. Let's hope the new group can go one step further.

The hardest thing to take if the Song stuff is true is the pennies they're letting him go for. I'm sick and tired of Arsenal letting their players go at cut prices.

It was built around Fabregas, then RVP.

Now, we have Arteta, Podolski, Giroud, Walcott, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ox.

Its built around them now. I.e. its a team.

Selling a 29 year old RvP to our rivals is one thing, but if we flog Song to that shower of bastards for £15m serious questions have to be asked about the motivations of this club.

I really don't see what people expect the club to have done differently once Van Persie released his statement. Would City sell a player to United? of course not, they have no need to worry about finances. Would Liverpool sell Suarez to United? Leaving aside all the individual player's history if they were offered around 40 million I bet they'd sell. Arsenal's choice was simple, get 30-odd million now or get nothing, spend another 4-5 million on wages all for a player who undermined the club massively.

Apparently this is the full story -
