Wii internet connection problem (WPA2)

    Hi,

Does anyone have their Wii connected to the Internet when using WPA2 security on their home network? It had been a very long time since I had tried to do anything online with the Wii but I wanted to use it at the weekend and I couldn't get it connected. I had it connected before and never found a problem with it.

The only thing that has changed in the mean time is my router. I have my router connected to an Apple Time Machine now and the security is WPA2. If I turn off this security the Wii can connect online but not when security is enabled. Any suggestions?

I had issues with that in the past, it was to do with password length. If you make the password really short and it works, there's a kind of fiddly fix that sometimes works, just need to dig out the link...

Jerry-rigging WPA2 on Wii by entering the 64bit hex code instead of the password

Didn't always work for me, got fed up with it (I was using the wiimote to enter passwords and codes, eventually my wife wanted the telly back) and turned off security, used MAC exclusion instead. Hopefully it'll do the job for you though.
