    Hi,

Could anybody recommend good roads around Dublin for doing 10-20 minute intervals? They need to be flat or with a slight drag, preferably without traffic lights, for stretches of I guess 5 - 15km.

    Thanks!

Strawberry beds is about 6.5km between top of knockmaroon hill and lucan. No traffic lights but it does have quite a few speed bumps which isn't ideal. Decent surface though and not too busy.

    PS: Its pretty flat too.

Batterstown out to trim and back is good. 40k round trip. It's used for club TTs.

From Batterstown out along the old Trim road or out along the N81 to Blessington.

I think it's hard to find the right kind of road close to city centre, you really need a national road with no lights, few junctions, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will start out with the Strawberry Beds route, and if the speed bumps are too much for my posterior to take, I'll try the ones further afield.

Incidentally, can anyone suggest options on the southside? The plan is to do intervals in the evenings after work, and with the days getting shorter, I'm looking for routes as close to home as possible.

Neither of these are ideal, and both are fairly short but Stepaside to Enniskerry (has lights part way) and Johnnie Fox's to Pine Forest (bit of climb to get up there) might be options.
