    R13-197 Dallas Cowboys DAL-DEF
    R14-220 Alex Henery PHI-K

First 16-team mock draft. Was happy enough with how that went.
Set up a spreadsheet to estimate VBD for 2012 (based on projections) and just stuck to it religiously just to see what I'd end up with.

One thing was not being too happy with my starting RB's as they both have good bit of risk, hence the early drafting of Donald Brown

    5. Reggie Wayne
    6. C.J. Spiller

    9. Mike Williams
    10. Jermaine Gresham
    11. Doug Baldwin

4 RB's in first 6 picks does look a little odd with no flex spot, though that could just me being annoyed that you snapped up Law Firm right from under me.
    No backup for Tony Romo?
Like the Wayne pick. Other receivers have potential but risky

Yeah, should have went receiver earlier.

I figure if you get enough WR's who are not safe but could breakout you should get enough starters out of it. Same goes for RB, but I think I'd like to go WR's earlier than I did last night.

I'm not convinced you need a backup QB, I plan to pick a QB early and play him every week, maybe pick up something off waivers for the bye week. Possibly pick someone up in the last few rounds but to be honest I'd prefer an exrtra RB or Receiver.

    Today's team, drafting 9:
    1. Matthew Stafford
    2. Jamaal Charles
    3. Doug Martin
    4. Antonio Brown
    5. Torrey Smith
    6. Fred Davis
    7. Carson Palmer
    8. Mike Williams
    9. Peyton Hillis
    10. Doug Baldwin
    11. Jon Baldwin
    12. Isaiah Pead
    13. Robbie Gould
    14. Chiefs defense

Picked a ton of guys I haven't been picking, happy to get Charles/Hillis and Martin. Though a few guys were snatched from me at the last thought it went well.

Drafted in 11th tonight, a lot on autodraft -

QB - Jay Cutler 6, Christian Ponder 12.

RB - Steven Jackson 2, Darren McFadden 1, Jonathan Stewart 5, Michael Bush 7.

WR - Brandon Lloyd 3, DeSean Jackson 4, Danny Amendola 8, Austin Collie 9, Randall Cobb 11.

    TE - Kyle Rudolph 10.

Feel a bit thin at WR. Happy enough with RB's and if either backups were going well could probably look to trade them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,849 ✭✭✭Spongey1975

    Picked 5th tonight

QBs - Tom Brady (1st), Andrew Luck (9th)
RBs - Adrian Peterson (2nd), Willis McGahee (4th), Donald Brown (7th), Jacquizz Rodgers (11th)
WRs - Jordy Nelson (3rd), Kenny Britt (6th), Laurent Robinson (8th), Sidney Rice (10th), Steve Breaston (12th)
    TEs - Antonio Gates (5th)
    PK - Ryan Succup (14th)
    DEF - Bills (13th)

Started the draft tonight, picking 9, my first 4 picks were identical, so I stopped.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,031 ✭✭✭Guffy

    1.Mcfadden (pick 10)
    2.A. Johnson
    3.Shonn Greene
    4.Josh Freeman
    5.Torrey Smith
    6.Antonio Gates
    7.Malcolm Floyd
    8.Packers d
    9.Mark Ingram
    10.RG3
    11.Lance Kendricks
    12.Robbie Gould
    13. Felix Jones
    14. David Gettls

An ok team imo any thoughts?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 4,952 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

I don't like that team tbh. Picking a defense that early is criminal aswell.

i normally wouldnt have but there were 5 d picks ahead of me and packers were still there so just went with it. first draft as well so was a bit rusty tbf. cant see how you dont like the team as a whole though. potential top 5 rb expecting good things from greene and freeman gona have a good season this year, took him ahead of both mannings and cutler. was either him or dalton. AJ out wide also. where have i gone wrong?

i know its hard to say without the whole draft results but pick the holes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Me neither, 2, 3, 4 and 8 are seriously dodgy. The rest aren't bad. And how did RG3 go so late?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,031 ✭✭✭Guffy

k maybe took johnson a bit high disagree on greene. dont know if i'd take freeman in real draft would depend on what qb there in 4th. duno how rg3 was there, alot of the picks in 1st went to qb's so people were playing catch up elsewhere i guess. luck was there too.

McFadden in the first round with his history is extremely risky...

Any mock tonight? Doesn't seem to have been reset.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,031 ✭✭✭Guffy

k my first real draft of season, still hadn't gotten a proper amount of mock drafts for my liking and ended up with 8th pick which im not a fan of cause you generally end up with mediocre players in every round, a couple of exceptions.

    1.Calvin Johnson
    2.Steven Jackson
    3.Demarco Murray
    4.Vincent Jackson
    5.Vernon Davis
    6.RG3
    7.Peyton Hillis
    8.Denarius Moore
    9.Kendall Wright
    10.Neil Rackers
    11.Mark Sanchez
    12.Lance Kendricks
13.SD chargers d (gona try play waiver matchups with d as most went in rd 7/8/9)
    14.Brendan LeFell
    15.Isaiah Pead

really dont know what to make of this team. all top 10-15 qbs went in first 2-3 rounds. alot went in rd 1 and people panicked and took them in round 2. ben and peyton were still there so kept letting mine go and they got taken in the picks before me in round 6. was hoping for felix in r 15 but again snapped up just before my pick. and had meant to pick hanson as k instead of rackers but net kept dropping :@ sanchez auto also

It's been a few years since I played fantasy football so I wanted go through a mock draft to get ready for the boards league. It's a good thing I did too as there are a lot of cobwebs. There were a few picks that I just was not sure what I was doing which is a bad sign and I messed up a few times by not being aware of the players ahead of me and their needs. Also pulled the gun way too quickly on DEF and K. My mock was for a 10 team league so I'm worried about one for 16. It's going to be very different and much harder.

Here is the line-up and the draft positions.

    QB Michael Vick
    RB Ray Rice
    RB Matt Forte
    WR B. Lloyd
    WR B. Marshall
    TE T. Gonzalez
    WR/RB D. Martin
    K S. Janikowski
    DEF 49'ers

    Bench
    WR Reggie Wayne
    WR S. Holmes
    TE D. Keller
    WR M. Crabtree
    WR M. Floyd
    QB R. Griffin III

    R1-2
    Ray Rice

    R2-19
    Matt Forte
    CHI-RB

    R3-22
    Michael Vick
    PHI-QB

    R4-39
    Brandon Marshall
    CHI-WR

    Brandon Lloyd

    R10-99
    Reggie Wayne
    IND-WR

    R11-102
    Robert Griffin III
    WAS-QB

    R12-119
    Santonio Holmes
    NYJ-WR
