I hope he's doing his live commentary this year. Only worthwhile thing about the competition. Complete with his patented SpankRating TM.

I opened this thread in the expectation that it would contain links proving the existence of extraterrestrial visitors on Earth!

There will be some staying in Area 51, Tralee, the Irish diaspora is spread out a lot further than most people think.

The Rose of Tralee Festival is basically a celebration of the middle-class Irish, a privilaged group who live in a different planet to most Irish working people. Personally, I have to time for it, as it is so contrived and predictable.

It's a bit like Crufts only for women.

I think The Rose of Tralee should be more like Crufts with the women having to jump little fences and have their teeth examined etc.

are you referring to just the Rose of Tralee Contest., or are you (as I suspect) talking about women in general?

I've bolded the word that seems to make quite clear that he's talking about the competition.

Either way, his post was in poor taste and not a little offensive.

Oh c'mon. I'm poking fun at the entire thing by comparing it to a dog show - I'm not poking fun at women.

It's archaic bullshit. I'm pretty confident the women on boards would class me as pro-women's rights.

Did you know my hero is a woman?

    Obviously not.
