when does VRT change re cars birthday

Apologies if this is answered long ago,
I plan to import a car I bought some time ago.
the VRT is around 1800 euro( 2010 Matiz).
the cars first date of reg is Jan 2010 .
waiting until then is not a problem for me. But I seem to recall that it may be ages after that ,that the vrt figures would change.

So , 2013 is one calendar year ahead of today ,and Jan 22, is the specific date.
Whats the story re potential changes?

just did a test, re entered all data but changed original d.o.r. to june 09 and jan 09.
both came up with the same figure approx 300 euro cheaper than 2010.
So this shows the potential saving, but the question is when?

would you really do without your car for 5 months more to save €300?

if you wait forever you'l never have to pay

it does seem a bit scrooge like rugbyman. think of whats getting lost in depreciation! Pay the bloody vrt and enjoy the car.

Its not losing much, at the rate the vrt is falling( i.e./,slowly) you may be right. I have another car ,so no urgency.
