Ethics aside, I'd also like to point out that a round to the head would not the cheapest death. There are some German papers to be found online (albeit they are quite old) on more effient forms of death. I think you could relate quite well to them.

Vielen dank für ihre kritik...üntermensch :D;)

He had appeals. He waived his right to more.

They should grate his skin off, roll him in salt and feed him to a bear with blunt teeth.

Ive done some research on the guy before I commented. The day this thread was setup I would have said have him hung drawn and quartered. Its not as simple as that however, this guy is obviously not well. Having read what I have I really hope he is found insane because he has obviously suffered from a complete mental breakdown in the weeks leading up to this shooting. There was no history of violence of any sort, or even any agressive tendencies, bar the weeks leading up to the murder in the notebook which he gave to his psychiatrist. These details we dont know but will obviously come out in due course.

This is such and tragic case, not just obviously for the people and families of those killed and injured, but also for the perpetrator who was a young man with enormous potential, someone who would have made a positive contributionto society had he not been struck with this deadly illness. The debate of how to deal with such people? I think will be a landmark case for generations to come

Well supposing he had a "moment of madness", he'll have to live with that mistake but it's difficult to say how crazy he was when he meticulously planned a killing spree. To make that happen would require a sit down with some serious thought. Most serial killers almost by definition are mentally ill in displaying a desire to kill innocent people and they often display symptoms of psychopathy and sociopathy. These are things that they did not choose to be afflicted but they were executed or jailed for life anyway. I don't think that Holmes' case will be any different. Ultimately, the cry for justice will be too strong. The best he can hope for is a life in a padded room somewhere as a life amongst the general prison population would be a fairly short one I'd imagine.

Without a fair trial.........the American way.

    Trials are expensive.

No. Shooting 12 people dead in a cinema is wrong. Sitting someone down and pumping them full of lethal chemicals is wrong.

    Trials are expensive.

There is also the danger that trials can expose the truth, this guy will more than likely be bumped off on some OD or suicide before any trial materialises.

You like the idea of inflicting pain on other people, huh? Get your kicks from it eh? Sounds like it. Amazes me that some people demand that the best way to meet violence is with grotesque violence. They don't seem to realise that that makes them little better than the people they condemn. Also: it's a bit disturbing seeing the amount of people who seemingly relish the thought of extreme violence. Weirdos.

tbh this kind of thing rarely happens in countries with stricter gun laws. if you change the laws, people are less likely to act out in this manner,

the two worst massacres in the us were in colarado, where gun laws are ridiculously relaxed. unfortunately this is a price americans must pay to bare
    arms

"A JUDGE has agreed to delay a court hearing for alleged Colorado gunman James Holmes after the 24-year-old was hospitalised, having reportedly rammed his head into a wall, a spokesman said."

How convenient. After all that has gone on in this case, is it no surprise that Authorities are trying to silence him for good. The case will reveal a lot of inconsistancies in the shooting and to be honest, this is not unexpected. We haven't heard anything on Holmes for months and then this comes along.

I was expecting something like this to happen.
