A remap suited to the car's mods is always better,

I personally would always go for a custom remap over a tuning box/handset system

That must be better than a remap surely? The have a hot girl in leather in the header as well as a tron style drawing of a car,not to mention 4 million different fonts and colours! Remap? pfffffft! :D

    Run away.

Get a proper remap, suited to the car :)

I wonder is it a more upmarket version of this ;)

As mentioned already, a proper remap through the cars obd port is a better way of doing things.

What would the cost of a custom remap be? Are we talking about €300 or less (or more)?

Would it be worth it for a diesel workvan or something like that? Obviously I'd be putting my 20k+ car (if I had one) on a rolling road but for a van or run of the mill TD roadcar would you bother?

Are these remaps / tuning boxes worth it? Do you notice a performance / fuel efficiency increase? Anyone have real life experiences of either?

Remaps, depends on the car, tuning boxes, never.

Performance increase, again depends on the car. Fuel efficiency increase, it's always claimed, but I've never heard of any one getting one ever noticing it.

Definitely noticing it on my car...520D.
Only got it done about a month ago and once I settled back in my normal style of driving :D getting a few extra mpg.
