Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think he'll come back but clearly you do.

I clearly nothing and dont think anything about Johnson. I dont take Mock Drafts serious and they generally have no reflection on how I pick. Everytime I pick in a mock I jot it down as a scenario of what to do and what not to do. Its also good to see where people lean when certain guys are taken off the board. Just like a pre-season friendly I give nothing away and use it to scout. Besides Mocks are all about What ifs for me its that simple.

I wouldn't want him starting, I don't think Chuck Pagano will give him enough opportunities.

Colts run game will suck cock and they will have to go to the air to get anything done. Luck will see plenty of action.

But hey thank you for picking my mock out and giving your opinion I look forward to your opinion on everyone else's.

    6(95). Jay Cutler
Love it. If you get that in the real thing it will be the value pick of the draft.
    1(2). LeSean McCoy
I can see no reason why he would slow down, I think it should be him or Rice vying for the number one pick.

    2(31). Brandon Marshall
You're not the only one to be in love with Cutler-Marshall. It's amazing what Cutler did without a good receiver, and what Marshall did without a QB like Cutler, so it should be a great fantasy combo reunited.
    3(34). Jordy Nelson
    13(194). Randall Cobb
Can't go wrong with Packers receivers.
    5(66). Eric Decker
I really hope I can pick him.

I figured I'm only posting them here to get opinions on my picks and figured I can't expect opinions if I don't give them. It's the best way to discuss fantasy prospects. Your draft was eye-catching though.

    11.PICK 172 Alex Smith QB - SF

    14.PICK 213 Josh Scobee K - JAC
    15.PICK 236 Cincinnati Bengals DEF

    Meh.

Alex Smith was 16th best QB in Fantasy last season. He had a worse WR corp last year than this coming season and the 49ers liked to run the ball. Not a bad QB to have on the books to backup Luck or start ahead of Luck.

Im going to pick out this though. You say meh but you are forgetting if Bowe holds out Breaston is now number 1 and has shown that he can catch footballs with sh1t QBs throwing to him Cassel can and will get footballs to him. Besides he is still not a bad number 2 if Bowe does eventually sign.

Miller is one of those rookies you grab and dump in the first couple of days after drafting this early and replace him with another rookie or backup player.

Scobee is a solid kicker and get in and around the avg 10 points kickers are expected to get every week so you say meh I say there are 20 kickers in Fantasy that will get you the minimum points expected Scobee being one of them.

Bengals defense is not bad for a last pick. Considering all the Top D's are gone I dont feel defenses get enough consistent points every week to warrant anything other than a last pick.

But again I thank you for your breakdown.

It's not that they'd be bad (and infact they're very good value) picks, it's just I'm not very motivated to write about the 11th-15th round.

So you would say meh about someones picks just because they are in the 11th-15th round rather than their abilities in fantasy? Ok that makes a lot of sense.

On reflection there was no need to say anything, and when I had a look at JMH's mock I only commented on picks that caught my eye. The draft is unpredictable and by the time you get to the 11th-15th round it's very hard to get an idea of who you're going to pick, as opposed to who you would pick in the first couple of rounds.

Cant do anything with less than half hour to go as that involves resetting the draft time back an hour. Can put you in tomorrow night

    16th overall. Interesting.

I've had a good mix of positions in the 3 mocks I've done so far. 2nd, 8th and 16th :o

My draft tonight, picking second overall. Not a place I want to pick in the real thing I've found out tonight.

    Round 1: Ray Rice
    Round 2: Brandon Marshall
    Round 3: Victor Cruz
    Round 4: Jonathan Stewart
    Round 5: Antonio Gates
    Round 6: Matt Schaub
    Round 7: Nate Washington
    Round 8: Carson Palmer
    Round 9: Rashard Mendenhall
    Round 10: Emmanuel Sanders
    Round 11: Brandon LaFell
    Round 12: Chiefs defense
    Round 13: Alex Henery
    Round 14: Heath Miller

Weak on the QB/RB front. Strong on the WR/TE front.

Drafting 16th overall. Happy again, although this time I intentionally didn't draft a backup QB. Just no one I liked enough to waste a pick on.

    6(81). Jay Cutler

    1(16). Matt Forte
    2(17). Trent Richardson
    7(112). Michael Bush
    8(113). C.J. Spiller

    3(48). Brandon Lloyd
    4(49). Jeremy Maclin
    5(80). Denarius Moore
    10(145). Doug Baldwin
    11(176). Randall Cobb

    9(144). Jared Cook
    12(177). Kyle Rudolph

    13(208). Robbie Gould

    14(209). Minnesota Vikings

I was 8th overall. Elite RB's and top 3 QB's were all gone, so I went with Ryan Matthews.

    Happy overall with the draft.

I'm not 100% convinced you need a backup QB but with Vick you certainly do.

    This is my team anyway;

    Michael Vick (3rd)
    Jamaal Charles (2nd)
    Ryan Mathews (1st)
    Steve Johnson(4th)
    Reggie Wayne(5th)
    Titus Young (7th)
    Brandon Pettigrew(8th)
    Alex Smith(11th)
    Peyton Hillis (6th)
    Alshon Jeffery(12th)
    Mario Manningham(9th)
    Kendall Wright(10th)
    Rian Lindell(14)
    Cincinnati Bengals(13)

Round 1: Ray Rice nice
Round 2: Brandon Marshall nice, I think he would have been there in the 3rd
Round 3: Victor Cruz tad high
Round 4: Jonathan Stewart same, tad high
Round 5: Antonio Gates had him last year, flattered to decieve
    Round 6: Matt Schaub daycent
    Round 7: Nate Washington
Round 8: Carson Palmer tad high, but he was a top 10 QB for last 8 weeks of the year so I like him on the bench. I got in round 12 in a recent boards mock
    Round 9: Rashard Mendenhall
Round 10: Emmanuel Sanders value!
    Round 11: Brandon LaFell
    Round 12: Chiefs defense
Round 13: Alex Henery good a pick as any :)
Round 14: Heath Miller no Jermaine Gresham?

Weak on the QB/RB front. Strong on the WR/TE front.

    My 2c, you picked 2nd

Drafted 5th tonight, not sure i want 5th in the real thing

QBs - Tom Brady (1st) Andrew Luck (8th)
RBs - Adrian Peterson (2nd) Stevan Ridley (4th) Ben Tate (6th) Toby Gerhart (7th)
WRs - Dez Bryant (3rd) Robert Meachem (5th) Laurent Robinson (9th) Mike Williams (10th) James Jones (12th)
    TEs - Jermaine Gresham (11th)
    PK - Billy Cundiff (14th)
    DEF - Bills (13th)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

    PK - Billy Cundiff (14th)

Very, very likely he will lose his job to a UDFA Justin Tucker from Texas Longhorns

I know it's just a mock and Cundiff has name recognition around the league (well as much as any kicker can) but have a glance in a few weeks, likely to be cut

I hope so, tell me a bit about this Tucker guy. What's his range? It surely can't be worse than Cundiff's.

For the purpose of this mock i took the highest rated defense and highest rated kicker that were left. I usually play the matchups each week with kickers and defenses

    R1-5 Tom Brady NE-QB
    R2-28 Marshawn Lynch SEA-RB
    R3-37 Fred Jackson BUF-RB
    R4-60 Steve Johnson BUF-WR
    R5-69 DeSean Jackson PHI-WR
    R6-92 Donald Brown IND-RB
    R7-101 Mario Manningham SF-WR
    R8-124 Jared Cook TEN-TE
    R9-133 Toby Gerhart MIN-RB
    R10-156 Matt Cassel KC-QB
    R11-165 Brandon LaFell CAR-WR
    R12-188 Rueben Randle NYG-WR
    R13-197 Dallas Cowboys DAL-DEF
    R14-220 Alex Henery PHI-K

First 16-team mock draft. Was happy enough with how that went.
Set up a spreadsheet to estimate VBD for 2012 (based on projections) and just stuck to it religiously just to see what I'd end up with.

One thing was not being too happy with my starting RB's as they both have good bit of risk, hence the early drafting of Donald Brown

In the order they were drafted, i went RB, QB, RB, RB, should have went receiver earlier:

    1. Chris Johnson
    2. Tony Romo
    3. Michael Turner
    4. BenJarvus Green-Ellis
    5. Reggie Wayne
    6. C.J. Spiller
    7. Nate Washington
    8. Danny Amendola
    9. Mike Williams
    10. Jermaine Gresham
    11. Doug Baldwin
    12. Steve Breaston
    13. Cincinnati Bengals
    14. Josh Scobee

4 RB's in first 6 picks does look a little odd with no flex spot, though that could just me being annoyed that you snapped up Law Firm right from under me.
    No backup for Tony Romo?
Like the Wayne pick. Other receivers have potential but risky

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

Yeah, should have went receiver earlier.

I figure if you get enough WR's who are not safe but could breakout you should get enough starters out of it. Same goes for RB, but I think I'd like to go WR's earlier than I did last night.

I'm not convinced you need a backup QB, I plan to pick a QB early and play him every week, maybe pick up something off waivers for the bye week. Possibly pick someone up in the last few rounds but to be honest I'd prefer an exrtra RB or Receiver.
