Now I can watch a crystal-clear blu-ray dvd on a 40+ inch tv in my home. relaxed & comfortable on my sofa.... order a takeaway, drink coffee or what ever.

Or you could watch it on a 17 metre screen in the Cineworld. Get an unlimited card and you can watch whatever you want for 20 euro a month. The screen in the Savoy is even bigger. The tv I watch films on is great, pretty big, but nothing beats going to the cinema, I go a lot and have only had around maybe 3 bad experiences in 6 years.

I agree with the OP (as regards seeing comedies in the cinema anyway), yeah it's a comedy, it doesn't mean you have to laugh loudly and hysterically at every line in the movie in case people think you don't get the joke! This happened to me at Bridesmaids, 21 Jump Street, The Hangover etc

If anyone kicks my seat in a cinema I get up and go sit in the seat behind them and kick their seat (.............................in my head)

There's a guy who regularly goes to the cinema in Cineworld in Parnell Street who is always wearing a Liverpool kit (cap, shorts and socks included) and has a tube of Pringles, and a 2 litre bottle of Coke, plus Nachos.

He also laughs loud, moves closer to whoever sits in the same row as him.
    Not entirely annoying, just...bizarre.

Nothing worse than somebody screeching and laughing the whole way through a film, I find a swift kick to the face shuts them up.....

I very rarely go to the cinema, maybe once very 4 years but I have a few bad memories of absolute idiots bringing their under 1 year old babies into the cinema and having to listen to it roaring and crying throughout the film.

Lots of annoying incidents over the years but one stand out was during Toy Story 3. There was a girl who also had a hyena laugh who screeched her way through the film. That included one of the final, really poignant and sad scenes at the end. I could see a number of people giving her WTF looks throughout (including a bunch of young fellas who were initially a bit disruptive themselves). Made me wary of seeing mainstream movies with an emotional punch in the cinema again.

40 EURO!! Where the hell charges 20 euro for a ticket (I'm presuming you got 2 for 40)?

Battlefield was sh!te alright, how come they can travel through space and have all that technology yet the ships can only bellyflop in the water? Christ! Rihanna was hot in it though.

So i went to see Ted at the cinema with the misses this evening. we were really looking forward to the film but the chap behind me was laughing in my ear like a hyena for the entire film. there was a few funny parts but this idiot roared at the most stupidest things

Idiots like this should be thrown out of the cinema,he ruined the entire film for us after paying 23 quid for our tickets. i think ill just rent out films anymore..what a complete and utter moron

I can just imagine you sitting there and whispering 'I say, this is dashed funny!' to your missus. If you don't want laughter I suggest you stay away from funny things.

Oh, very fancy. And I suppose if you were getting popcorn and snacks in a normal cinema it would equate to forty euro if not more. Where's the mezz?

They do it in dundrum, you go upstairs and have seats to sit in while you wait. Have some wine before you go in! i think it works out cheaper.

I detest arseholes at the cinema. I take pleasure in telling people to be quiet. Still remember at the start of the Two Towers some teenage girl down the front who was actually turned around kneeling on her seat, taking to someone behind her , laughing and joking, loud as hell.

I always give people a chance to shut up up but not with her, so roared out "will you SHUT UP down there!". Must of given other people courage, as two more people instantly roared out in agreement to shut the hell up. Of course got a torrent of abuse back, but she turned around and kept quiet.

You should have called the guards. Laughing at a comedy is practically illegal.

Just on the topic of cinemas... And having seen Ted this weekend... (which was epic)

Why oh why do soooooo many people rock up at ten past nine, bulging and unbanaced with popcorn and a 5ltr of coke... To a movie that was listed to start at 9? Staring angrily all around the aisles... Wondering why there's no seats left... And begrudgingly take their seat in the front row - confined to watching a 6x6 foot portion of the screen for the next 2 hours???

If the movie starts at 9, and you want a good seat... Get there, hmmm maybe... BEFORE 9.

    Get back Susan Boyle!!!!

The problem with the mezz for short little feckers like me, is that there is a rail which covers exactly any subtitles. I went to see avatar and taken there, the reclining seats were of little use to me cos I had to sit right up to see the translations :pac:

Another big problem, when i went to see the avengers, a rather heavy lady ended up falling asleep on my shoulder! Seats are too damn comfy!

I dont have the problem with the seats, im almost 6ft so the people behind me always have to shift around to see the screen! lol

The ****ing noise from people eating is fairly annoying, also. I don't mind so much for a brain-dead blockbuster, but I cannot understand why someone would want to watch a movie where someone is, say, battling cancer with really intense scenes, and people love nothing more than to stuff their fat faces with popcorn and slurp on their troughs of Coke while watching the image of someone depressed/dying.

I miss the sweet popcorn that you can get in cinemas in the UK. Stuff is like heroin, you just can't stop eating.
