too many to mention, 95% of my music collection is film scores. nearly all of whats been posted already. one of my recent favourites is How To Train Your Dragon, epic stuff.

I love most of Michael Mann's films soundtracks, Last of the Mohicans, Heat, Ali, and The Insider, in particular this track:

    one for guitar lovers^

James Horner is probably my favourite, he has done some wonderful scores such as Legends Of The Fall, Titanic & Avatar.

I do like his stuff but he has a terrible tendancy to rip himself off all the time, there's not a lot between most of his soundtracks. 'Krull' is his best, and rarest.

I realise were all the modern Mozart's and Beethoven's are, orchestral composition is alive and well and thriving.

Not to come across too ponsy but I do like a good tune on the piano in a foreign movie so I'll say

Also the Shrek sound track is pretty good.

And doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it deserves, considering how much guff is in the charts.

Anything by Clint Mansell, in particular the soundtrack for Moon which I have listened to regularly since the movie came out.

Im also a big fan of James Horner's stuff. Wrath of Khan and Aliens. I also liked the soundtrack in Meet Joe Black, Inside Man and the remake of The Thomas Crowne Affair.

Good to see someone else port Conan the Barbarian too. Great soundtrack!

It kind of does, we all know the above "chunes" this thread is more or less reminding us of them.

    The Moon theme was excellent.

Film Forum. Been done to death.

Really LOL I thought I came up with an original thread.

You do know After hours, 20 topics on a 1001 pages and Boards IE has about a hundred forums you really don't have to open this thread.

The Film forum would yield a very different thread on this. I prefer seeing what everyone thinks here.

All my favourites are Hans Zimmer scores: Gladiator, the Batman Trilogy and Inception. Inception is probably my favourite over all but the others have the best individual tracks.

Anyways, I know this is really a soundtrack as opposed to a score but I think it deserves a mention. Watchmen:

Sure it has been said loads of times already but Hans Zimmer's Batman stuff for me.

The scene in The Dark Knight Rises where Batman returns during the bike chase is a perfect marriage of image and sound, makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

John Barry would be the Elvis of musical scores ,the list is endless.

Theme from '' Missing '' and ''Love Theme from Blade Runner '' by Vangelis would be two other favs of mine

Absolutely right, there's a completely different variety of expertise in this thread to the comparatively limited scope of the Film Forum.

I take back what I said about the Big Lebowski; this definitely wins the award for the most incredibly fitting and relevant soundtrack to any film ever (particularly for a film of a pseudo-historical nature). It's like Reeling in the Years.

Am I allowed to include twin peaks? Feck it, I will, since it's an awesome tune.

as mentioned before, Being John Malkovich (couldn't post a link at that stage) http://youtu.be/Z5O1d2gwc18

Sorry to break the rules again, but I also love the opening sequence to Six Feet Under http://youtu.be/KYAe0qwg9Yw

    The Ravenous soundtrack is deadly.

It takes a while to get into it but its really epic when it does. Savage film too.
