I've seen that also. No prices. Also some items of food are over priced at Cyclesuperstore in my opinion. Check out Wheelworx. They DO have prices on all their food and are cheaper. Plus you get 10% off with their loyalty card so it works out cheaper than even the bigger stores like Chainreaction and Wiggle. Also you are buying local.

I've only limited experience of shopping here, been in a few times and only once made a purchase, bought a pair of Sidi road shoes.

Salesguy was a total prat, I had done my research and I knew exactly which model I wanted. He tried everything to dissuade me and insisted I buy the pair that were over 80 euros dearer on the basis that "..these are the shoe everyone is wearing at the moment"..he said hadn't my size in the shoes I wanted and pushed really hard on the more expensive pair.
When I finally said no, I'm sticking to my guns I want this particular pair and I'm leaving it at that, he miraculously found "my" pair "down the back of the store"..when I got to the till to pay I asked another sales lad how many pairs of this shoe in my size were in stock he checked the till PC and said 4!!!

    I haven't and won't be back!

I had in my one and only visit a number of problems with them:

#1 regarding SIDI road shoes. I required a MEGA (wide) fitting and the sales guy wasn't able to tell me what models were available in wide fitting. After 15 mins he told me "I'm a mountain bike man so not familiar with road shoes!" I'm thinking "what the bloody hell are you doing working in a store where you're not familiar with the products you're supposed to be selling?" FFS!!! When I got home a quick search online gave me the info I needed (not exactly rocket science!) but the sales guy just had no interest nor sales ability..... IMO too used to never having to sell, just customers coming in and knowing exactly what they want!

#2 Asked about speedplay pedals to a young guy at sales counter and the poor lad didn't even know what I was on about...... I actually had to look for and find the pedals myself. Wasn't the lad's fault, he was very polite but why was he manning sales counter for pedals but not knowing what products he was supposed to be selling? Again I reckon expecting buyers to buy not sales people to sell.

#3 Asked mechanic for splined spoke wrench for my mavic kysrium's turns out it won't fit...... I live an hour's drive away and just couldn't be bothered posting it back.

Ended up spending €225 that day (spending money locally and all that jargon) but after I found out how easy it was to find info on SIDI shoes online and realising how little interest the sales guy had I won't be going back!

Met a guy on a sportive ride who was planning on purchasing a bike worth over €10k at CS, I told him about my experience and he has since got his new bike elsewhere......

    Muppets IMHO.

You can pay for a bike as much as you wish and I know bigger fools that purchased more expensive cars - remember The Rule #25 :p.

Think you mis-read, he met him on a sportive and he was going to get a 10k bike.

Not he was getting a 10k sportive bike.

Thank you Crow92! I also partake in sportives and would have NO hesitation whatsoever in spending 10k or more on a bike if I could afford it... I do find spending more than 20k on a car a waste of money so it all comes down to what floats our individual boats ;-)

Should the day ever arrive that I have the means to carry out such a deed it will most certainly NOT be at cyclesuperstore where I suspect Kermit the frog and miss Piggy now subside.

Thank you all and good night!

I find it hard to believe that you were able to influence the non purchase of a 10k bike from CSS
    Sounds like a good story......

This place is a joke.I recently purchased some expensive goods there that just happened to be faulty. This was not Cycle Superstores problem these things happen. When i returned them to the shop i was informed the items would have to be returned to the manufacturer for replacement and they would contact me when the items were replaced.I noted the persons name i was dealing with an rang up several times and waited and waited and you guessed waited. When several weeks went by i rang again and asked for the person i was dealing with and was informed that he was no longer employed there as he was a BIT STUPID their words not mine.To SAY I WAS A BIT TAKEN BACK WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.Then this other guy said he would look into it and ring me back which he didn't.Once again i rang and relayed the story only to be told that they never had a person of that name working there and i must be mistaken.Eventually i got my replacement but some of their staff are not fit to be dealing with the public.Much better Cycle shops around where the customers are respected after parting with their hard earned cash.

are these guys getting too big for their boots? was there a couple of months ago for the first time checking out some bikes. very impressed with the shop and staff. very helpful but i did feel they were a little 'marketing friendly'. i wonder are the guys on the floor under a bit too much pressure? after checking out some bikes, i returned home to have a think. i left it be for a couple of weeks then i started getting calls from i assume their marketing department. i never answered and they never left a message. they attempted to call me a few times but i never answered. i dont like marketing calls. i am currently in the process of purchasing a bike from my lbs. im glad i did so. more friendly service and i just wanted to support my lbs. i was very impressed with the staff at cyclesuperstore but not impressed with their 'marketing skills'. im just wondering are their over heads a bit too much and are their staff members under too much pressure? im getting a feeling theyre getting a litte too big and employing anybody and probably paying them crap money.

How can you tell who was calling then, and what they wanted from you?

caller id. cyclesuperstore number. believe it or not, people will leave you a message if they really want you. if you want something from somebody else, do the same. if they dont leave you a message, they more than likely want something from you. not always of course, i.e. leave a message. done a dusted now anyway.

Where did they get your number? you must have given it to them while you were in the shop?

Some people would consider this a positively unusual behaviour for Irish bike shops - they almost never call when asked to... Perhaps all it would have taken is to pick up the phone and say that you're not interested anymore?

that i did. im over it anyway and no more calls. after checking out many bike shops around the country over the last few months i have to say i found cyclesuperstore the most pushiest. even though as i said earlier, i dont blame the guys on the floor for this, i blame the management of the place. id say they're under a lot of pressure to sell due to what i said earlier. the floor staff are fantastic. very helpful. i also found the staff of the lbs's amazing around the country. extremely helpful and knowledgeable. id highly recommend fitzcycles in dublin. probably the best ive found certainly in the dublin region. cycelsupertore has all the goodies. well worth checking out. impressive shop

i see your point alright but i actually see it as a marketing trick. id class it as cold calling or there abouts. by not answering it gives you control of the situation. its a very simple thing to leave a message. any how its done now. well worth checking the shop out though. impressive. i wish them well in their new premises.

I tried to get in contact with them 4 or 5 times about a recent wheel purchase but no luck does anyone know if they read their emails? I sent same copy to a few of their listed addresses

Fair enough...but as you didn't answer the call and actually speak to them, everything your saying is pure speculation. Maybe they were calling your number by mistake? we'll never know.

You never explained, what did you leave them your number for? Did you get a quotation for something, bike/ wheels etc.? If so, a follow up call on this kind of action is normal no? Explaining why you left your number might shed light on the situation!

good point. calling by mistake!, i think not. id call it 'good' sales department. no we wont know for sure and im not worried about it now. its a very impressive place though and id recommend people to check it out for the shear volume of stock. wouldnt like to be running the place though. wouldnt like to be trying to balance the books there

Been in there a few times and think its well stocked, good staff too. But to call them pushy when there is no real light being shed on why you handed over your number etc. or why they are actually calling is a tad unfair. But anyway good that you got sorted, Fitz Cycles a good store too. Great lads in there fond of the racing too.

Why not? Maybe your phone number is only one digit different to Cyclewizard's number? he's still waiting for a call back :P

I never leave messages, I never check mine either, I hate voicemail, send me a text or an e-mail.

I bought a pair of bib shorts online on their Wednesday deal.
Ordered XL on the website but rang them to be sure because I wanted XL.. not L or XXL...
Spoke to a guy in the shop who noted my order, yeah XL, no problem..
2 days later my package arrived, sweet..!
    And what was inside...? XXL.
Rang them to ask if they had any XL to be told they hadn't had any XL in that brand for ages..
So, why advertise it on the website? And why not tell me when I was on the phone?
Did they think I wouldn't care/notice that the bibshorts were a size bigger..?
2 things became obvious to me...
    1) They had excess stock of these bibshorts that they needed rid of and didn't bother to check the size when I ordered/rang and 2) they couldn't give a f*ck..
    Will not be going back.

Just pick up the phone and give them a buzz. There's always someone on the till who should normally answer. Just called them this instance to check if they had something which I wanted before the weekend. Of the 5 bike shops in Dublin I called, they answered on the first ring, so get on to them this morning!

Bought my Cannondale there. Have never had any issue with them only positive. Never experienced any pushy sales or marketing. In fact, once I ordered 2 different cleat types on the one order (online). They rang me to ensure it wasn't a mistake (I have different pedals on my bikes). I thought it was good customer service actually.

Bought multiple bikes and gear in there. Never had an issue. Always very helpful. Same with the workshop. Also used them for a warranty issue and it was sorted easily.
