You live for your toys, even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plastercine
    Or even tried a trampoline
    Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

Considering how mind boggingly sh!t the above lyrics are, then I'll be going with Blur by default.

It was not really about the lyrics with Oasis it was the sound and attitude

Not all Oasis songs are particularly well-written, you can definitely smell the drugs on some of them. :D

That frequently produces gold though! :)

Also, I like the bass player in Blur and his cheese enthusiasm.

No, he really gets on my tits. There was a time a few years ago were he was very overexposed. He loves lots of attention. And keeps bringing up his cheese-making business. We get it Alex, you live on a farm.

    Since we're rehashing the nineties:

Oasis, the best Beatles tribute band ever.

And since we are sort of re hashing nineties comedy, Wings are the band that The Beatles could have been. :)

Which was grand for the first couple of albums but after that, you're not left with anything of substance.

During the 90s, I never liked Blur because I was a devote Oasis fan. More recently (last 3 years or so) I've been listening to more and more Blur. They wrote some fantastic tunes and had a lot more song writing ability amongst the band than Oasis.

I liked both, bought albums by both bands. But I was a big big Oasis fan. Went to loads of their gigs, missed the park ui chaoimh one though which was apparently the best. Saw Blur at Oxegen a few years back and they were epic.

I'd still say Oasis, they'll always bring back memories of my youth and had so many anthems of my generation, which will be known and listened to for years and years to come.

Oasis at the time of that apparent rivalry. I thought Morning Glory was a far better album than Great Escape.
    Blur overall though.

Grew up with Oasis being blasted from my brothers room.

    Always loved them!

There was a bit more variety with Blur; Oasis kinda stuck with a media and crowd please formula, plus the Gallaghers were a pair of pricks.
Except Noel, he's a legend. Always comes across as having a good sense of humour in interviews imho.

Liam Gallagher always reminded me of an Ian Brown wannabe tbh!

However I prefer the big guitar sound of Oasis, songs like Hindu Times were/are class.

It'd be some album to have both bands Greatest songs on it tho....just please, please, please leave Don't Look Back In Anger off it :(

*toddles off to YouTube to make an Oasis/Blur playlist*
    Anyone got any requests???

Blur for me. Oasis just kept rehashing the same old material.
Having said that, I like Noels solo stuff. Seems to have evolved a bit without the knacker brother.

Funny you should say that, I used to think that Noel was the sound one and Liam the prick, however after reading this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oasis-Truth-Tony-McCarroll/dp/1843582465, I thought the exact opposite!

    All of Liam's song don't count as they're ****e :D.

    On the other hand;

    Street is like a jungle
    So call the police
    Following the herd
    Down to greece
    On holiday
    Love in the 90´s
    Is paranoid
    On sunny beaches
    Take your chances looking for
    Girls who are boys
Who like boys to be girls
Who do boys like they´re girls
Who do girls like they´re boys
