DayZ Zombie Mod for Arma 2

OK this is a complete noob question.I can't find a gun anywhere (or any kind of weapon for that matter). Am findiing lots of food and magazines but no weapons.So I try sneak into the towns get sniffed by zombie and have to run for the hills to outrun them cos I've not even got a wooden stick to hit them with.Anyone any tips?

You should find one within the first 3,the first 5 at most.

Also,apartments,shops etc are good for the likes of shotguns and handguns.

You can lose zombies by running through buildings. Find a building with 2 doors, make them follow you in, then loop around and break line of sight as much as possible.

I think you've just been unlucky not to find a gun. Keep at it you'll get one soon.

Easy mode for losing Zeds is run to a bush or tree, preferably a few in a line, run through and slightly around said bush and feck off, zombies love bushes and trees even more than survivors.

if you put 6 tyres and 1 main rotor parts, and 30 cooked meats in a tent, you can use the drop down menu to select "Build Yacht"..... try it..

Edit- oh and make sure the tent is partially submerged in water before you do it. you Dont want to make that mistake again like i did.. Doh!

At least with an axe you can do one hit kills. With the Makarovs you have to reload in the middle to finish someone off :P.

You might aswell pick it up, as it doesn't share a slot with the shotgun or lee enfield that you're holding out for. It's a one shot kill to any zombie in the head, something which is piss easy to do if you're in a building and they're walking at you

K, server just got hacked. Running out of Cherno, suddenly appear in a some kind of arena, and get a message saying welcome to the Thunderdome...

Um, joined a uk server after the thunderdome thing. Am now in NW airfield instead of Cherno. I've got an axe.

what about tents will they vanish? i stashed my SD CCO and my NVG's in there

Yeah he was at my camp. He reloaded beside me (obviously invisible) and took one shot at me with a sniper rifle. Then a satchel went off nearby and 10 minutes later put into the arena.

Hope my gear isn't gone

Yeah server is hacked. Techniques where were you when you heard the explosion? We were near ROG castle and heard a huge explosion. Then some of the lads got teleported to a thunderdome thing. Thought the explosion was a heli crashing or something

50 cal? Cause, I was chasing the sound of a 50 cal yesterday. Then get hit at point blank. Never saw the guy

I was a nice piece from ROG but could have been the same explosion alright. It was definitely a satchel.

Whoever was on the IE1 server between 15:20 and 15:30, list your names up here.

The server was hacked fairly badly there and anyone who doesnt post up here, they will be temp banned until we can sort this stuff out.
