Found a couple of short preview videos, so thought I'd create a thread to put them in:

    Episode synopsis:
Marie confronts Walt over some of his recent actions. Meanwhile, Mike, Jesse, and Walt move forward with their newest business operation.

Looks this episode will be action packed!

Sorry, I forgot the poll. Hopefully a Mod will be able to include it.

Looks good, this season is not wasting much time ! :D

Pain in the ass Maria back - let's hope it's a super short scene..

Ah I kind of like Marie! She had some of the most pointless plot points in the show but she's a great actress and plays the role well. It'll be nice to see her back this season.

Looks promising. Saul is probably my favourite character.

Did they ever do anything more with the shoplifting thing? Skylar found out but Marie kept denying it, did any more ever come of it? I honestly can't remember :o

Last I remember was when she was going to open houses and telling stories of woe. She got caught and arrested doing that. Don't think there's been anything since.

"the dead mackerel eyes", "he probably threatened someone before breakfast this morning"

Could only be Mike. Looking forward to this.:D

Episode was filled with so many chilling character moments with Walt's veiled threat of offing Mike/Jesse with the Icarus/Victor parable, his black-hearted ratting on Skyler, his initial incapacity to look at Brock, to him actively trying sabotage Jesse's relationship with Andrea, and then coldly dismissing Jesse's reveal of his success to gibber on about his cash. That's before we even get to inevitable Scarface comparison and the brilliantly captured line of Walt "Everybody dies in this movie", whilst Skyler stands on in horror.

Now Walter White stands before us a man utterly lacking in redemption.

Definitely our S5 Pt. 1 Walt episode. Brilliant, excellent, fantabulous episode.

    No need for the tags!

Agree with it though, was a decent episode. All except for Skyler shouting, such a bitch.

He wasn't jibbering about his cash, he was cementing his control over Jesse. He'd manipulated Jesse into getting rid of people that he loved .ie. the closest thing to a family. Once that was done Walt basically implied that if he even thought of branching out on his own he'd wind up like Victor.

So many great instances of Walt being cold and detatched in this episode.

Skylar has a breakdown: put her in the soup with her sister for having an affair, then bite into an apple without even checking on Skylar.

Meeting Brock: Looking at him with what was nearly disdain, then encouraging Jesse to drop his surrogate family.

Even the Scarface thing. As soon as I heard it I thought to myself "Ah for god sake, they're labouring it here, Vince Gilligan already made the comparison". But when it pulls back and he's watching it with his kids.

    Great episode.

Ah now, she has a fair bit on the plate at the moment!

Skylar's really breaking down! It's crazy how quickly she's transformed from the controlling force in the family to completely subordinate and mentally unstable. She's completely paralyzed with fear, and Walt's throwing her under the bus with regards to Marie is just further putting her under is thumb. Something big is going to happen there. Seems unlikely given how frightened she is of Walt, but it may not be beyond the realm of possibility that she may be the one to rat him out to Hank.

To be honest, I feel like Mike is going to meet a sorry end. Unlike Jesse, who seems to be fairly compliant with everything Walt says and does due to his sense of guilt surrounding the Brock situation, Mike stands in the way of Walt's vision of how things should be going and it seems that in the eyes of Walt, he is presenting a power struggle. I don't think the threat at the end was particularly directed at Jesse, but more a way of filling him in on what he intends to do about Mike should he continue to try to control the business. Mike did deliver my favourite line of the show so far though - 'Just because you killed Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James'.

Not too much attention being given to Jesse so far. Walt's sabotaging of his relationship with Andrea was an awful moment - the whole pretending to be giving honest advice...I still believe that Jesse will "save the day" so to speak. I think he'll make it somehow.

Overall loved the episode - the scene of them cooking in the house with the great soundtrack and the scene with Badger and Skinny Pete (playing amazing piano) in the music shop were both great.

Only Walt can throw a hissy fit over making ~$170k a week.

I want to see more Skinny Pete piano recitals!

The music shop scene was brilliant - these hands moving so gracefully, playing such beautiful music and the camera pans back, to reveal that it's Skinny Pete. Just such a wonderful moment.

Was hoping that Skinny and Badger would be back- they're a pair of jesters. Think its sad that Jesse is being forced to cut off his mates (the 'look' from Mike) and his girlfriend (blatant manipulation by Walt). He's really changed from the poseur in the ridiculous outfits going on about fat stacks in the first few seasons. Its like since he met Jane he realised there's more to life. Loving seeing his character develop for the better.

YESS.... she is backed into a corner- she's realised Walt is a psycho who will kill again and she's repulsed by him but there's nothing she can do to stop him moving back into her home. I wonder if she would take the kids and rat him out to get him out of her life. Although she would be implicated too at least she wouldn't have to live with the twisted fcuk, and Hank and Marie would look after her kids while she was in prison.

Thought the Scarface scene was labouring the point a bit and was shocked that he would watch that with Holly on his lap, the poor child...but maybe that's a topic for the parenting forum...

This show just gets better and better. The cinematography alone is far far superior this season to any of the previous ones.

Walt really is turning into a despicable character, it's becoming harder and harder to have empathy for him as the show goes on. If Gilligan can pull that out of the bag and have us rooting for the villain at the end of this season again after all he has done it will go down as the greatest show of all time. I think Jesse's character has really developed, I want to see him win, but that Scarface scene leaves me thinking there wont be a happy ending there. "everybody dies in this movie"

Skinny Pete playing the piano, was epic!! I thought Badger was gonna duet with him and then just started scraping at the guitar!! No wonder Twaughthammer never made it!

Did anyone think of this when Skylar ripped into Marie?

It seems like Walt is teeing up the problems for himself lately. He agrees to let Mike handle the business end of things even though you can see Walt is clearly not happy with that arrangement. There's a blow up the first time money is apportioned. Not the way you want to be kicking off a business partnership. The meth lab inside a fumigating house is a novel idea but is it really safe? Would they not worry that other residents in the neighbourhood spot these two extra men coming and going and ask a question about it? Mention it in passing. What if someone recognises Walt? What if the cops have noticed the pattern of burglaries that follow these fumigation details and are keeping tabs on the crew?

Skylar will blab. The woman is a walking pressure cooker at this point. She can't realistically withstand her life with Walter and not do so in a moment of weakness. She either does that or is killed by Walt but that would be a step too far for Walt's character, removing any sympathy for him now and forever. Maybe she might abruptly leave town or be committed as an outside third possibility. Wouldn't mind that at all! :pac:

Had to laugh at Skylar following up her salad with a cigarette. Will be interesting to see which direction they take.

It's starting to remind me much more of the Sopranos now in terms of the family dynamic.

Whats the song that plays when they first start cooking in the fumigated house?

Loved the opening scene where Mike hammers on the door, the subtle nod to Gale with the Walt Whitman book and had a good laugh when Jesse grabbed the tortilla :P Beautiful cooking scene too.

What was the significance of the final scene? I thought Gus killed Victor because he was the only person to be seen at Gale's apartment right after he died. He was the only person that could be implicated.

I think they were reminding us of that for a reason. When Hank asked Walt who WW might be in season 4. That's going to click with Hank eventually.
