Not all the athletes went, for the British team anyway they said only half of them are at the ceremony... Wouldn't you be raging if you were in an early event and couldn't go!
what about the ladies football ?

Wouldn't it be cool to win a gold on day one, put your feet up and watch the rest of it

My personal highlight: Emelie Sandé singing 'Abide with Me', very soothing and really matched the visuals.

McCartney wasn't too bad, dodgy start but that was the sound engineers rather than his voice.
And of course his voice isn't like it was when he wrote that song almost 50 years ago. The guy is in his 70's ffs! What do you expect!

I agree. I thought it was great. It took a while to get into as it was so different to previous ones.

The U.S and Colombians Women's National Teams were watching on T.V in Scotland as they have matches in Scotland. I'd be fuming to be honest.

i love the way during their rose tinted trip down memory lane, they conveniently air-brushed the empire's mass slaughter and terrorism of indigeneous peoples around the globe.

It will be moved after the ceremony, probably out into the olympic park. That was the way they did it at the winter olympics

Anyone feeling a bit unimpressed.. It didn't catch my attention in the slightest especially in comparison with Beijing, I gave up watching around 10pm so perhaps I didn't give it enough time..

    What did everyone else think..

Yeah. They really should have focussed on that. Would have made a great start to the event.
