Have they referenced The Smiths at all.
    Britishness personified.

Plus, Danny Boyle and Morrissey are the same person.

Then they had to put Beckham's mug into it and it was ruined

Welldone Beckham you have ruined the Olympics for everybody.

It looked kinda like the Paddy's Day parade in Longford compared to Beijing.

I think they'd actually be even more broke than they are now. It costs billions to host

No. They'd just sell the rights to host it every 4 years. It'd make them make billions.

Then there'd be all the spin off merchandising they could cash in on.

Anyone know when Ireland is coming out?
Somewhere between Indonesia and Japan, I think ...

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Beijing was just drums and fireworks, right? And lots of bling (and half the fireworks were faked for tv!). Oh yeh, and that scroll thing (which was no better than the chimneys rising up). Definitely more imagination this time....

I think this means he won't be lighting the torch though, so that's a plus! :)

Actually, my post was rubbish. Even if they hosted it themselves, it's not like they'd have to build a brand new stadium every 4 years.

Nah. I thought it was great. Different, but great.

It couldn't keep being a pi$$ing conetest as to who could have the biggest drum band, the most fireworks etc.

I don't agree I think they made up for the lack of funds in comparison with creativity, originality and quality.

I loved the whole thing, the music section was amazing. To spite them leaving out the Smiths:rolleyes:
