Rattle snakes are pretty harmless and are much more afraid of you than you are of them. If you go near them they just curl into a ball and start rattling to let you know where they are. Generally the people who get bitten are drunken teens or twenty somethings who thing they are Steve Irwin. I'd only ever try to catch them with a grabber.
