So you think Hodgson wasn't doing what he thought was best?

Not for the club. For him & his "reputation". Blame everyone else, the players, the fans, previous manager etc etc.

    LOL :D

Whatever your thoughts on Kenny, he was doing what he felt was best for the club, it's fans & the team on the pitch. Maybe he was wrong. But his heart was in the right place.

Roy was just....ugh....even remembering him makes me sad. What a stain he is on the clubs managerial history :(

Just to ask, when you came home that faithful day and caught Kenny in bed with your missus, did you wait a few days or did you blame Roy straight away?

TBF King Kenny left a far bigger stain on your club than Roy ever could.

His antics were appalling at times and he didn't even have the dignity to step down in the end, he had to be forced out.

You give KK an easy time just because he was a legend for ye as a player but the reality is he was embarrassing the club off and on field.

Like Lloyd, blind loyalty to Kenny I'd imagine.

he didn't even have the dignity to step down in the end, he had to be forced out.

yet he had the dignity to forego his compensation package of £9m and tell the bosses to spend it on players.

it doesn't add up does it? think about it.

and Kenny could never be a "stain" on the club. he worked for the club with dignity, always putting the club first whether he was right or wrong.

that is a ridiculous, pathetic jibe.

El-Hadji Diouf was a stain on the club.

    Kenny...um, not quite.

seriously, shut up, you have no clue what you are on about.

What's wrong with loyalty to someone who has earned it?

No problem with loyalty to someone, its blind loyalty and not being able to realise when that person does something wrong is my issue.

Funny how certain people can call Hodgon's character into question in such a disgraceful manner for a couple of silly comments overhyping performances yet cry at the sacking of a manager who pretty much made a fool of himself defending someone adjudged to have made racist remarks and really bringing the club's reputation into question.

Poor Roy, if only he had realised being a Liverpool legend allows you spout whatever crap you want.

The problem is that isn't everyone's view of what happened. The bolded is a perception or opinion, and very far from a hard fact.

What??? Kenny went away with Alan's wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/sheep, and that Hodgson fella gave Kenny a lift over?

It's embarrassing IMO to see Alan and Lloyd pining over Dalglish because of what he did in the 80s. Nothing he did last season justifies the man crush they both have.

And you couldn't just write that the first time?

It might have something to do with the fact he was the best player to ever play for Liverpool.
It might be to do with the fact that he was the first manager to achieve a league and cup double with Liverpool.
Or that he won the league with Blackburn and denied United a league victory.
Or the fact he breathes Liverpool.
Or that he went to as many funerals as possible and ensured there was a Liverpool presence at every Hillsborough funeral.
Also that he had the best team in the country playing for him when it all became too much for him and had to walk away the first time?
Or that he wanted everyone at the club to stick together unlike facking Woy Hodgson who had a go at fans and players alike.

No doubt Kenny made mistakes but I think blind loyalty is when someone won't admit they made a mistake. Mr Alan and Lloyd have both said he made mistakes.

Nowt more than an internet rumour I'm afraid.

True if Kenny was only judged on last season and his entire history with the club was ignored.

But Kenny's actual history with the club from 1977 to last May does warrant a hell of a lot of respect and I can see how it would easily spawn man crushes.

Last season was not a good one for Kenny, but his legacy at Liverpool, both on and off the pitch is secure, and there is no way last season tarnishes that imho.

I don't care what he did as a player.
I dont care what he did as a manager in the 80's.
I don't care what he did as blackburn manager with Walkers money.
I DON'T CARE WHAT HE DID IN THE 80'S.

The fact is he was not far off relegation form in the 2nd half of last season.
We played 5 matches to get to the fa cup final, United were the only game we did well to win and very nearly threw that away. We were lucky to beat Everton and were then schooled by Chelsea bar the final 15 minutes.
Penalties to beat Cardiff in the league cup says it all, especially when you remember that we didn't even deserve extra time.

It's time people took off the rose tinted glasses and realise that Kenny just was not able to be so involved in the game at such a high level anymore. SAF has evolved from 1986, Kenny has not.
