Anyone know if you have to renew your licence or apply for a learner permit in the county where your address is?
Dublin would be handier and is supposed to take up to 5 days where Wicklow said it takes at least 4 weeks!

Can't answer the main question but an earlier thread said that you can get the renewal across the counter in Cork, that's if you're really desperate and want it ASAP.

I was in Ballymun last week and they had an announcement saying that if you lived in a different area you had to get your paperwork sorted there. That they would only process applications that had addresses attached to the local authority.

My girlfriend got hers over the counter when she told them she was Driving from Kilkenny to Mayo in a few days and she needed it in case she got stopped as they awlays have checkpoints on the Durrow road in KK and they actually gave it to her there and then, now thats fair jammy its crazy how long it takes to get it when they can actually process them there and then.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it go so and if it doesn't work out, try to think of an 'urgent' excuse for Wicklow! :p
