Used to saying 'pictures' so I guess pictures should be added to the poll

Isn't pictures used like cinema? ie. "I'm going to the pictures/ cinema", rather than like film. ie. "I'm watching a film" not "I'm watching a pictures"

Yeah, but what I mean is 'pictures' is used instead of 'cinema', not instead of 'film' or 'movie'

Film. I've also recently trained myself to say "film" rather than "filum", which I'm quite proud of, tbh!

But that extra syllable is a feature of Hiberno-English. :( How could you? You avoided an Americanism and then went all out fancy pancy with your "proper" English. :p For shame!

They were filumin a filum up my way last week. :o

Evil fun for the masses because it gives them evil thoughts to encourage them to do evil acts .When we can't understand that; then we are truly lost as a society

Movie there nothing wrong in calling it what it is

I end up saying both but I suppose I say "film" more.

    Never really mattered to me.

If you're eating popcorn during the best bits - it's a movie.

    phlegm

    phlegm

    You go to the phlegm?

It's Pictures - all other references are Americana shíte influences.

If I saw a film last night I'd call it a film but pronounce it as phlegm and if I went to the cinema I'd say I'm going to the cinema, was at the cinema etc.

Sometimes I say movie, other times I say film.

Edit: Oh and I couldn't give a toss about whether a word or a phrase is an Americanism or not. WTF anyone cares about this stuff is beyond me.
