Which lawnmower for a large lawn? A decent make, big cutting blade all in for a budget of 2500 or aprox.

    thanks

    I can vouch for Castlegarden.
Have a self propelled at a house I've rented and it's been cutting 3/4 acre for the last ~12 years and had no more than a few services.
Have a Castlegarden 13hp, b&s engine, ride on here and it cuts an acre no bother. 36"deck and manual box. Basic but reliable, 6 years old and nothing but a few services. I just wish it had a larger box for collecting.

As bbam says it is hard to beat a Castelgarden. The XG140HD would be within your budget. 36 inch cutting deck, 13 hp briggs and stratton engine and hydrostatic transmission.

The good thing about Castelgardens is that spare parts are readily available and any lawnmower man will have experience of working with them.

Local-ish hardware firm doing a good deal (I think) on 13hp at moment:
